World War Z- Left 4 Zed (Jimpressions)

When it's not broken, this Left 4 Dead ripoff is actually quite fun and features giant piles of zombies to mow down in a satisfying way. Unfortunately it's broken a LOT.

I'm not particularly bothered by zombies (they are an inferior kind of skeleton, if you ask me) but anything that shakes up the bog standard formula tends to catch my attention. I've seen the film and the image of a veritable tsunami of zombies rolling around streets, across urban spaces and up/off/around buildings was startling and left an indelible impression on me. My memory of the plot and actual human characters is a little vague, to be honest. I think Brad Pitt was sad in it. He had a wife and children, who were also sad. Then when the zombies came they drove to England in their car, from America. Actually no, I think they drove to Israel first (from America) so Brad Pitt could meet a young man undergoing chemotherapy. Then the zombies came and it turns out people undergoing chemotherapy can fight the zombies and win every time. Then Brad Pitt drove to England in his car (from Israel, naturally) because he owned a super secret laboratory there, and made it so everyone could fight the zombies and win every time. Yeah, I'm fairly sure that's a reasonably accurate summary of the films plot.
