Asking Sterling (A Patreodcast) #7

Time for another round of questions. Well, this is the third load of a single round of questions, with more to come. Aren't you so inquisitive? Let's talk about positivity, bread, and phases!

Asking Sterling (A Patreodcast) #7

Oh, I'm late. Thanks for answering my question! It was a biggie. Your answer makes perfect sense. And it was entertaining hearing you try to say my name :P (you did about as good as an English speaker can!). FWIW you definitely haven't lost me (not that my pledge is that big), I love your content. I don't want fake positive stuff of course, I love your honesty too. Just keep doing what you do best.

Thanks for answering my question, and happy holidays! Oh yeah, just wanted to add that I love the Age of Barbarian games. They're terrible. And fantastic.

happy holidays and thanks for the answer. Please keep doing dark scary loot box stories without you and a few others I wouldnt be kept up to date on shadowy dealings the SlootyA industry is doing.

Well hello there Jim. As an electrician with lots of lonely work in dank places, your voice has whispered moist obsceneties into my eardrums for years and years - making it less lonely. Thanks for that. Question: You rarely speak of Nintendo 64. Why? Did you miss out on street-wide warfare in Goldeneye 007 with your mates? Was your mind not blown by Mario 64? Did you not enjoy the clunk that was Shadow of the Empire? What is your memories of the N64?

Thanks for all of your work Jim!!!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Also, I love your positive Jimpressions/content and I make sure to watch all of it when I'm notified of it through Pateron. Perhaps, the problem of people not seeing it has more to do with Youtube's deplorable algorithms? Anyway, I hope that you have a great day! ....and I would totally buy a plushy of you. :-* <3 <3 <3 ;-)

Freakish Uproar

BACKGROUND: I'm replaying Crysis, after considerable time on Battlefield 4 and 1, and some trials of other shooters like Far Cry 5, Just Cause 4, and Assasin's Creed Odyssey. Referring to SP only, I still find the Crysis gameplay to be far superior to all of these. By that I mean fluidity of movement, weapon smoothness and modeling quality, and especially the AI! Cat & mouse in the jungle against a KPA squad is just terrific. Add to that the amazing graphics which, as far as they go (foliage, roads, hills etc) are still unsurpassed; and the ability to move and hide in this environment even without using the cloaking. Plus excellent level design overall, music, voice acting, UI etc. The few mistakes in Crysis 1 were avoided in the follow-ons which in some ways were even better. MY QUESTION: Why, after 10+ years, has the AAA game industry been unable or unwilling to produce even a single equivalent FPS - never mind a series - that's superior overall? Closest seems to be the Battlefields, which have more story and much more varied settings, all very well done - but worse combat / weapons / movement / refinement! The Far Cry series is about the same as BF in those terms, but is weighed down by exploring, crafting etc. Personally, I would trade all of them for any one Crysis game, and that's sad after all this time. I'm not asking why those games sell, but their market is crowded, and the focused FPS genre Crysis launched seems to have been abandoned. Thanks for the chance to ask.

Hello Jim. I've been a follower and fan of your work for years (the first video I stumbled upon was that Christmas one were you start all fancy and dandy about the holiday season and then the video cuts to you holding a huge Penetrator from Saint Rows 3 and saying "Wrong!"). I'm more than happy to be a Patreon =) If people complain about YouTube's bullsh!ts, then why don't they also upload their content to other alternative websites? If content creators uploaded to at least a second place they would not "put their eggs in a single basket" and would also help those alternative websites to grow and become a strong viable option. What do you think?
