Asking Sterling Questions (You Can Ask Me Questions Here, Friend!)

It’s bloody time for another bloody round of Asking Sterling, but I need to be asked things so I can answer them! This is where you, my lovely patrons (and this time *only* patrons should be able to do it) can do an asking and I’ll do an answering.

Ask whatever, and I’ll get them tackled in an upcoming Patreodcast!

Comments

A tad late but, if you could make one final last jimquisition and no one after that anymore what would that jimquisition be about?

whats your opinion on the shitshow that is youtube rewind 2018

Have you gone back to The Council since its last episode released? I remember you saying your interest was waning with episode 2, but I feel it deserves some love

bleakeur

I believe the world is sorely lacking in POGs that say "Time for the Side Fuck". You should remedy this.

Just listened to the most recent Spin-off Doctors Pixelscast and I wondered if you could elaborate on something you said while you and Conrad autopsied GamesRadar’s top 10 list. Is “camp” the only factor that lets you enjoy a video game movie? Or is it just ONE of the most important factors to you?

What do you enjoy more, playing videogames or talking about videogames?

Another question if i may, jim, have you tried the Yomawari collection on switch? I was watching nitro rad talking about it on his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwAVV0BneJ8 and i realized, huh? you are a horror fan, but i do wonder if you have the same opinion as he does or was this the first time you heard about this game ?

Five favourite games of all time?

Hey Jim, I love that they've brought back some old classics from the past, Resident Evil 2 & MediEvil especially. I am however worried that we've reached another peak in companies recycling content like they do with their yearly EA & Ubisoft titles. Do you think this could be another threat to gaming originality if it becomes too full blown?

Jim, if you could change the games in PS1 classic, what will be your top 20? and no, you cant have all 20 list be MediEvil

He is doing fine, and apparently, wrestling has been helping his back probelm instead.

What are your thoughts on the current geopolitical situation in regards to the global economy, from a gaming standpoint? ;)

As a noted fan of aliens (and critic of the colonial marines debacle) what kind of experience have you had of monoliths 2001 'Aliens versus Predator 2'. I understand as far as campaigns go it's one of the best out there, although hard to get a hold of nowadays. If it passed you by I really would recommend giving it a go, at least the marine stuff if not the whole thing.

I know that Sterdust has essentially retired, but I still wanted to tell you about my sidekick idea--yellow spandex with a little French Maid apron and hat wielding one of those big, fluffy static cleaners. His name? Dustster, of course! Duke Amiel has Royston, Jim Sterling has Craig, and Sterdust needs a Dustster! Also, I'm 6'4"and not a small man, so I thought I should add that in for the sake of comedy.

Who's your favourite boss fight in the Metal Gear series?

Also you went from a small game reviewer to self made gaming icon and now a wrestler, what’s next? Astronaut? President of the world?

GrandadsBelt

As a fellow Swery fan, what game do you like most of his or is there something that grabs you with his games? Also, how does it feel knowing that he appreciates you and your support. Thank God for you good sir.

GrandadsBelt

What do you think of Epic's new store front? Do you think Tencent and the Chinese government will ever play a part in it?

Have you ever had a period in your life where you lost interest in video games?

Hello MR thank god for Jim Sterling, Do you think even with the different Countries looking into Gambling in the Triple A. That the industry will change or hang it out as long as possible so it goes away? And how do we as a people help on stopping this filth of gambling mechanics? Love you xxx

Hey Jim, how is your career in professional wrestling coming along? And how do your past back problems play into that?

A Big Crocodile

Oh one more question: What are your thought on the Tumblarok? You know the Tumblr debacle about adult content? It is kinda the cousin of the YouTube content ID I think. But I am really curious about your though on the matter, even though it isn't video game related.

Hey Jim, have you had any contact with the Digital Homicide guys after the end of the lawsuit, or have they smartly chosen to move on with their lives?

Ignore this if you've already answered this, I haven't been able to find time to listen to all your previous podcasts. (Though I want to) I noticed that you never really talk about any kinds of virtual novels, even good and popular ones like Danganronpa and Ace Attorney. Is it just not an interest? Do you consider these games, even? I see a lot of hentai VNs shoveled onto the steam store, and very very few legitimately good or inspiring VNs, considering the quantity.

Have you ever talked to the developers of Age of Barbarians? I'm just wondering what they think of your use of the barbarian face in your videos.

Ben L.

Do you, or have you had any interest in strategy games, be it RTS, grand strategy, turn-based tactics, management sims?

Thomas Knight

The the Craig you yell at during the Jimquisition Craig the intern or Craig the racoon?

James

What do you think about the potential impact of gaming on ecology? The gaming industry's desire to release new consoles every 4 years (if you count the pro editions), and using a lot of energy for streaming, constantly online "live services" and digital downloads.

Snapping Snapper

Are you a fan of the TV series Red Dwarf? If so, whose your favourite character?

Freakish Uproar

Listening to your last Asking Sterling (thanks for doing these, by the way) I was interested in your thoughts on used games. I completely understand your point of view and definitely see value in the secondary market for games; what I take issue with is the way that Gamestop and its worldwide equivalents take advantage of the poorest and youngest to turn a quick and hasty profit. Their mark-up for used games is severe and ludicrous, and all too often I see young children who haven't got a proper income having to trade in dozens of titles (they clearly still want to hold onto) in exchange for pittance, just so they can have the newest thing. If they sold these games on eBay, they're make quadruple the amount that Gamestop gives them, and at the same time Gamestop employees hound you to trade in, every time you go to buy something At the same time, somehow Gamestop seems to have second hand copies of games the MORNING they come out. I find this practice scummy and it reminds me of awful times I had as a child being taken advantage of by similar companies because I could not afford to buy games.

Ryan Aston

Would you play a remade third person shining force game? I would love to explore castle runefaust in current gen. But i would want to keep turn-based battles and promotion system. What would you do if you had to make a shining force game for current gen.

How do you feel playing games as a professional has affected you're personal enjoyment of them? Do you feel like taste or play style has changed?

Jonathan Martin

Have you ever thought about revisiting some of your "Early Access" Jimpression games?

Jonathan Martin

Why do you think Kirby is less iconic (real iconic, not Ubisoft iconic (sorry, couldn't resist) than Mario and Zelda?

Whatever happened to Miniature Fantasy Willem Dafoe?

Would you like to see photos of Naked Snake from Metal Gear Solid 3 wearing your FucKonami shirt as camo suits? What's your favorite real world mythology and what's your favorite fictional mythology?

The7thDraconian

Really find your wrestling stuff entertaining, but I find it hard to keep up with. What’s the best way to see video of your wrestling matches and promos? Any plans on making a compilation video of Sterdust and STERling’s antics?

Ju Man Jack

I've been wondering for a while, the pumpkin that attacked you which customer services sent it after you. Personally I though at first is was Comcast for ditching them because if was you tube they would have sent the Easter bunny. But after what i saw happen with fall out 76, it got me thinking perhaps a bug from the game escaped to the real would and is attacking critics or potential threats. If that's the case my guess is that YoungYea is gonna be next to get the pumpkin treatment, it already sent him a present to get him to lover his guard. As for next time I have some information about keiji inafune infamous better than nothing line, see you next week.

Jim, what are your thoughts on RPG Maker? Have any not-shit RPG Maker games caught your eye? <3 Craze/Pam

Pam Skowhegan

Hey Jim, I've got a simple question. What's your go to comfort food?

I've been reading a lot of fantasy novels recently. My current favourite is The Lightrbinger series by Brent Weeks. Do you have a favourite fantasy series? And is there any fantasy series that you would like to see turned into a video game (any genre of game)?

Do you think in a post Pycho Mantis and Undertale world it is possible to break the fourth wall in an interesting way which isn't dull. It feels like breaking the fourth wall without being trite is rare nowadays. It was at one time a very nice trick used to a great effect in Metal Gear Solid and the sequel as well as that Silicon Knights game (The name alludes me) Undertale was a great fourth wall smashing game that came out recently. But I think most of the breaking of the fourth wall in games is just 'I'm in a game! Wow look at this game thing!' How would you say you break the fourth wall right?

There's a lot of culture which goes into forming and informing the basis of how games are presented to the general public. Some of it is obvious, some of it is subtle. What parts of US/UK/World culture do you feel are over represented? What parts of the above do you feel are under-represented? And if you had unlimited funds, what sort of game would you want to be a producer of?

Matthew Parmeter

Do you think that remakes can be made soley out of love? Or do you think that the stink of cynicism sits on all remakes regardless of quality? Because I can see both sides of that argument. On the one hand it often improves the source material and makes it more accessible to newer audiences, but on the other, one could argue that it is not necessary as newer generations should have new games and not just rehash after rehash, but either way I would like your opinion on it.

Bah, patreon ate my question :( Here's the short version: The vast majority of the videos on your channel, except the occasional positive game review, is super depressing. They feel like "us versus them, and they're winning". And I'm not saying "stop covering bad stuff", heck no, I just wonder if there's a way to incorporate more positive news into the mix? Because I've seriously considered unsubscribing over the endless stream of news that makes me hate the world. Edit: to clarify: I don't mean - or want - to change The Jimquisition into a "safe space" of any kind. I just think that out there, there's probably as many examples of things being 'done right' than there are things done wrong, and I'd like to hear about those too.

You are given an IP of your choice, movies/games/comic/whatever, and have full creative control. what would you pick and what direction would you take it? you can pretty much do what you want to grow the IP in whatever media you choose without restriction

Jim, go on Chapo.

Yinzer

Are we ever going to be able to buy a Jim Sterling plush or hand puppet?

Kev Bryant

If you could choose one game to be remade, from the ground up(for the better), which game would it be? Also, what do you think about the Gothic series?(yes, I know it's long dead and buried, but I'm just curious)

Quite a few times on the Spinoff Doctors you have brought up your dislike of the original "Night of the Living Dead" and "Dawn of the Dead", saying you much prefer the remakes. I know this probably may not be the best format to ask this, but could you elaborate your problems with the films more? Given your love for horror and your political views, both movies seem right up your alley, and that is before getting into the significance they had on the genre as a whole. (You may not want to read this in full on the show) Night was one of the first primarily white, American films with a black lead and one of even fewer that just treated him as the lead instead of putting a heavy emphasis on his race. The writing, acting, message, cinematography, and effects were all good for the most part. The only negatives I could really see was the acting was a little over the top at points and Barbra being portrayed as helpless. However, in the case of the latter, it isn't done in a way that implies that it is because she is a woman, rather it had to do with her being (understandably) traumatized and left in shock by the events she saw unfold. They also presented social commentary in a subtle way and completely redefined what a zombie was. Zombies to that point were minions to someone that held them under a voodoo spell. Romero made them into the dead that return to life due to a virus and/or something radioactive from space. They also implied that the zombies may retain some knowledge of their former lives (something rarely seen by other zombie films). The remake is alright. It improved Barbra's character and had a bit more realistic and serious feel (for the most). However, it also made Cooper a caricature, was ham fisted and obvious in delivering the same social commentary, and had a poor twist ending. The ending to the original left the audience with the idea that we as humans go into things reckless and overzealous, which can lead to the innocent being harmed as a result. In the ending for the remake, the audience is left with the idea that the good guy gets screwed over, but the bad guy still gets their “just desserts”. With Dawn, you could have seen a different movie contextually than most others, due to the multiple versions of the film and the mess known as its distribution rights. I would suggest watching either the American theatrical, Director’s/Extended, or Ultimate/Mall Hours cut. The writing, cinematography, message, acting, and effects were all good for the most part, again. The acting gets a little campy at points, like Night, but the film overcomes that. Dawn upped the gore and social commentary from the last movie. They show how people will uncomfortably and hastily stand idle by when racist remarks are made, but eventually intervene when racist actions are taken. A black man was once again cast as the lead, this time his race is emphasized more, but not overly so. We see Fran, the female lead, grow from a typical woman from the city into a highly rational survivalist. We get to see the group struggle to cope with Trooper’s inevitable demise. They also give a nuanced portrayal of the zombies that we don’t usually see. They confirm the implication that the zombies retain some knowledge of their past lives that was hinted at in Night. The zombies are also not painted as the stereotypical evil entity, rather as a highly dangerous species we don’t understand. The zombies almost made secondary to the human antagonists that later come to raid them at the mall. The Remake is average at best. It is barely a remake either, it only retains the zombies and the setting of the mall. Any time they try to deal with the issues addressed in the original, they do it in a very poor, ham fisted manner before forgetting about it later. It is the typical schlock that takes itself too seriously that people have come to expect from Zack Snyder.

Brian Palmer

you may have this before but is a customer friendly free to play model possible? Which games come closest to this ideal to you?

Ryan Ulick

What would you say to someone who is so disillusioned at the video game industry that they are considering to stop playing games and take up another hobby?

Jason Youngberg

A guy like me can't help but wonder, do you think that some of the choices that went into making Dynasty Warriors 9 a poorer game, (The open world, switching characters to more orthodox weapons, splitting the voice acting budget thinner to accommodate another language, etc.) might have been an attempt to appeal to the new console gaming market in China rather than motivated by avarice or idiocy?

Thomas Halpin

In light of recent events with micro transactions and loot boxes, is it possible the day of the AAA scam cult coming to the end? More and more I find the only real innovators are indie devs; like darkest dungeon, skull gurlz, blaz blue, nimbatus, and even modders who work on modding games like FO4, and skyrim. From what I have seen from EA, BethEAsda, activison, etc. is the slow crawl to death. they dont create anything new and are now panicking as loot boxes and microtransactions are falling off the wayside. Do you think the age of the indie dev is here or soon to be?

Jamie C.

I wanted to ask you that for a while, but forgot to do it on the previous session: How is the Cornflakes Homunculus doing those days?

I watch Zero Punctuation as ritualistically as I do Jimquisition (in other words I spend about 60% of my waking hours with either ZP or Jimquisition playing in the background) and in his most recent review, fallout 76, Yahtz made a point about how he doesn't think the game industry is doomed to forever follow this live service multuiplayer only bs because...well i'll just paste it: "People ask me if I worry about the future of the interactive arts in this era of AAA being a constant stream of solace-exploitative knockoffs, but I'm not worried, because we've been here before. At the end of the 90's, games like Quake III and Unreal Tournament tried to convince us that we didn't really want artistic single-player PC games when we could just pay to run on hamster wheels all day, and look what the 2000s brought us: Deus Ex, Thief II, BioShock, Portal! It's always a phase! In the long run, the only "eternal" guarantor of success is a quality product well-made... The money to be made from knocking off what's popular and exploiting the stupid always dries up eventually" Do you agree, disagree, or think it's partially right partially wrong? Not gonna lie I have no idea if due to Escapist related things you two actually aren't on good terms for one reason or another but I still think a discussion between you two would make for a very interesting one. Or a t the least a statement on this "phase" quote

Gabriel Martin

Personally I'd rather have those three calmly disagreeing with each other (as they often do) than have the podcast turn into shouting heads talking past each other as in cable news.

BJams

Is there any chance Podquisition will mix up its co-hosts? Laura and Gav are lovely people but three lovely people with similar perspectives calmly agreeing isn't always exiting. I miss having a counter voice to get you riled up or off on some fantastically perverted tangent.

The cheeky bastard is back but this time, a paying patron! Your comment on the last Asking Sterling gave me a huge laugh that I'll never forget.

Question: Where did you learn how to argue or use critical thinking/reasoning in your everyday life? What would you suggest to someone who wants to learn or improve their critical thinking/reasoning so they can craft better arguments, be resistant to sophistry, and in general know how to properly interpret arguments from others without reacting irrationally emotional?

noxamillion

A lot of games preclude listening to outside audio, because the player needs to be able to pick up on audio cues or hear dialogue to play them the way they're intended. Do you have a favorite game for playing while listening to podcasts or playing music?

Kraken

It is possible that they are dreading the last two Uwe Boll movies they have not done yet: In the Name of the King 3: The Last Mission, and BloodRayne: The Third Reich.

Before you flip Jim, if you are reading this, I'm a paying patron. My question is way below this thread.

noxamillion

How excited are you to see Mysterio in Spider-Man Far From Home, and how crestfallen will you be if there's no fishbowl helmet?

This is sort of old hat by now (and someone may have asked you this already), but going back to your Fist of the North Star coverage/general love for the property, have you seen the 1995 live action version? We'd love to hear your thoughts on that one. It's terrible. So terrible. But also watchable, in an outsider art/Troll 2 sort of way (I think?). Also, it has Rufio.

Ill Gotten Games

Do you think that Independent game companies (not the asset flippers on Steam) have done more for the game industry in the last 5 years then any "AAA" publisher has done in the last 10? If so, will they still be around if and when another video game crash occurs?

Dungeon00X

Hey Jim, Thoughts on the new Epic store that will be rivalling steam (apparently) ? Or is this just another Uplay/Origin type situation?

Is there any way I could get something signed by you? I know you signed cards for those who preordered from the Jimporium, but outside of that I mean :)

Wow, third question already. :) With the global impact on climate, public/personal health, global acidification, eutrophication, land/water use and animal cruelty, have you ever considered going vegetarian? You kinda seem the type that acts on ethics and reason. If not, did you ever feel a conflict or a kind of dissonance towards that topic? (Please don't break my vegan heart now <3 )

Marius B.

Will the Count be gracing us worthless noob plebes with his presence in the near future? I agree he can get overused, but those are some of my favorite Jimquisitions and absolutely define why I stay away from most comment sections.

Adam C.

How have you dealt with anxiety disorder? As someone who has it too, I was very anxious of my last question I asked you, and that it came out wrong.

Nemrex

Now that tumblr is dead, where will I get my porn?

We all know of your love for the amazing Ekans, but what are some other Pokemon you took a liking to?

JZBeasty the Huggable Snep

Where do you see yourself and the Jimquisition in the future? Would you ever consider running for higher office?

Hi Jim, I know you have unsubscribed from the network, but do you still enjoy watching the weekly WWE shows? Opinions on "The Man" Becky Lynch and why she should main event Wrestlemania next year?

Who would you have play you in a movie of your life? What other castings would you like to see for characters that would feature? P.S. There's also a new series of Vic and Bob out on the Beeb... it's great.

I know you work quite a bit, but how often do you get to hang out with loved ones and friends? I know a lot of independent creators struggle to find family and friend time, so I was curious about how often you find time to relax with some buds.

Sydney Pacione

If you were given complete control to create whatever you wanted right now, including all the resources, staff, and space you needed to get it done, what would it be? A game? A film? I giant sex robot?

The Irony Giant

From journalist - to gaming consumer advocate - to semi pro wrestler. What's the next big thing for Jim Fucking Sterling Son?

Once you went independent, when did you make the decision to hire Justin? Was it difficult to give up some creative control?

Perpetual Noob

Considering AAA games seem unable to meet the expectations of investors, do you think that money will eventually move to other industries, and if so how will that impact the gaming landscape? Will we see games of similar scope as current AAA titles but less frequently, or a similar release schedule of smaller games?

What are your feelings on beards, both on yourself and your lovers?

McBeard

Are there any movies you know you'll cover on the Spin-Off Doctors that you're really dreading? I know you've covered the most notoriously bad ones already.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but you've made references to playing DnD before, so I'll ask if someone wanted to do a Live stream game with you as a player, would you do it, and would you prefer a one-shot or an extended campaign?

As one Kirby conniseur to another, do you feel like the Kirby series is becoming too stagnant? From Return to Dreamland through Star Allies, the engine has been the same with new features being glorified puzzle elements. Can't help make an apt Dynasty Warriors comparison - love how fun they feel like nothing else out there, but I know I'm getting a curtailed, formulaic experience. Do you share these sentiments, and what would you do different in the next Kirby game?

Joseph A.

We know a lot about what frustrates you the most about triple-A developers. We know about your take on the scammy/scummy independent developers. What frustrates you the most about "real" independent developers?

John S. Fetzik

Hi Jim. I've always been an big believer in "voting with your wallet" when it comes to any form of entertainment. Naturally with the video games industry pushing for more ways for players to spend more than the baseline cost of a video game, I have personally found myself being more picky about which games I want to spend my money on. In the past few years, I have completely been ignoring games that have microinstructions, loot boxes, live service mechanics and such practices in the knowledge that I am voting with my wallet on something that I don't support, and I think that is "fair game" so to speak. I don't tend to hear the phrase "voting with your wallet" floating round amongst game critics and journalists, and is there a reason for this? Is it simply an obvious statement that doesn't need mentioning/repeating, or is there something more that I have not considered that has potentially negative consequences? Love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks, keep up the good work! :)

Old Gary Numan or new Gary Numan.... Cars or My Name Is Ruin?

Might be better suited to a different format, but I'd love to hear you compare and contrast various games' business models in the micro-transaction market (Warframe vs League of Legends vs Fallout 76, etc). I feel like there is a discussion to be had about gray areas and lines that the worst offenders cross as well as what some of the more successful games have done right.

What as happened to Craig ever since fistshark closed down? Is he still locked in his box?

I love your stuff and I'm so glad I finally got around to asking you a question!! My question is... Would this "Targeted to Jim" armor set convince you to give monster hunter world a second look? :) https://i.ytimg.com/vi/WWfYeU57K_Y/maxresdefault.jpg

Since moving from 'traditional' game journalism to Patreon do you feel like the way you evaluate games has changed? Specifically do you feel like you are any more or any less critical of the games you buy with your own money to cover?

You said before, that you're a tabletop gamer. Are you a fan of Games Workshop and/or Warhammer

Simon Edwards

Would you please describe a fascinating place you visited like a park, museum, any point of interest?

Eldebo

Not sure if you'll answer this, but to my knowledge you have depression or anxiety? How long has it taken you to feel stable, or how do you seemingly deal with it so well? Also: I love you so much, Sterling. Thank god for you.

Khobalt

Which Dynasty Warriors do you recommend to play?

Pedro Garcia-Huidobro

Why the prawns?

Beech Horn

Is it always Pogs or is there ever any love for Mad Caps?

Beech Horn

We often hear you criticize the notion of games with long tails of DLC and other post-launch support, but isn't, for example, the five year reign of Payday 2 preferable to Overkill just releasing Payday 2 and then releasing Payday 3 a few years later? It seems a much less wasteful dev process, and to give us players more for our money. If you agree with the above, what would you say is a good way for devs to pay for that sort of long tail? The initial game sells can only pay for the wages so far past costs of the core game.

Lasse

If tomorrow your wrestling and YouTube careers died in some freak glitter accident what would you take up in their stead?

You mentioned in one of your videos a history with Aberrant the table top game. This is super cool as I have been involved in an Aberrant campaign off and on for 15 some-odd years. Can you say anything more about your history with the game. Have you been following any of the Onyx Path projects to revive the Trinity Universe?

How widespread and effective is product placement in video games? Seems like a form of revenue which can be unobtrusive with respect to the mechanics in a way microtransactions aren't, doesn't it?

Klil H. Neori

What do you think of Tumblr banning all the pr0ns.

Tim Bisley

If I recall correctly, Starscream is your favourite Transformer, which is a fine choice. My own choice would be Soundwave, so my question is: Which was your favourite of Soundwave's cassette-bots?

Alice Maguire

If you were the CEO of Boobisoft, what changes would you make to their open-world formula to make it more appealing? Or would you prefer they scrap it altogether?

Hey Jim, not a native English speaker here, I was always curious about your accent, which for my ears is very characteristic. Is it from a specific place in Britain, or just a pronounced English accent? How would you describe it?

Given the increase of HD remakes and relaunches of older franchises, are there any other classic games from the early era of gaming that you would like to see reimagined, and how would you envisage them being recreated for a modern system and audience? (e.g. a 3D aircraft shooter version of Attack of the Mutant Camels, or an sprawling open world version of Loom)

What's the most petty thing that triggers you/makes you mad? For example for myself, it's the kind of monster that digs into a tub of butter rather than scrapes off the top to smoothly spread on a delicious piece of toast.

Jim do you ever think you cult following and some of your crazed stalking fans is the result of the dom like personality of early Jimqistion with the Jim sterling character putting on a powerful personality. That, plus you two sharing the same name. Submission fans may think your really like your character and becoming obsessed

Ryan Casey

Which games have you kept your eye on for awhile that are coming out in 2019? Or what are you hoping santa will get you?

How was your relationship with John Bain? How often did you meet him in person, how did you get to know him and what would you tell him just before he passed away?

Hi Jim, just jumped on board the patreon train so not sure if this has already been answered or not. I seem to recall you having a twitch account and now that you've divorced cumcast do you think you might do some streaming? I kind of miss squirty plays and just listening to your stream of consciousness rambling while playing something.

Sayucchi

Of the 4 basic elements, Earth, Water, Fire and Air, which do you feel the most kinship towards?

Alicejack Airheart

Julian LeFay knows his Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall fell well short of its ambitions, but is amazed that no-one has attempted to work more deeply into similar world-building blueprints. Should Bethesda change course and look back to its roots? Is there hope for TES VI, or will it be thoroughly corrupted by AAA corporate greed & creative bankruptcy? *hugs*

Levethian7

Is Bethesda sending out the real canvas bags a good enough apology for all the controversy? Love you xx <3

What are your thoughts around using Pro Wrestling style "drama" or Kayfabe in e-sports to create artificial stakes and enhance audience investment? Gameplay and leagues are fun to watch, but the players and teams are just not interesting enough for most people care about. Anyway, thanks for all the content this year and hope you have a good holidays.

Muaaz Suliman

How do you deal with the negative / critical / trolling comments on your social media platforms? Do you just learn to ignore them, or filter them out? I imagine that it must have a severe mental strain on people like yourself having to deal with it, and wondered if you have developed any specific coping strategies, or if you just don't even notice them anymore?

Hi Jim! Any interest in the paranormal? Any personal unexplained spoopy stories or sightings?

Hiya Jim boy! With the lucrative offers games journalists receive for false praise, how do you resist the dark allure of damn dirty dollars and remain the Glowing saint of integrity you are today? Was there any point in your career by which you were tempted to give into what feels like the status quo. Accepting a little something on the side to sweeten the taste of a game? With much love and admiration I thank God for ye, and may we forever, look in awe towards the sters.

GeneralJenny

Does the negative feedback on things like Youtube comments and Twitter ever get to you? If so, how do you deal with it?

After you claimed you could beat him (which you 100% did in Asking Sterling #3 at 11:03, as you seem to have forgotten :U), he said he could knock Sterling clean out. He says, if you have the balls to actually challenge him rather than shouting across the Atlantic, he'd have you on the floor in moments. So can we expect the great Sterling to take Ian up on the challenge, or does he not, as Ian says, have the balls to actually fight him? :U

B) If industry implosion is a near certainty, what do you think the game-pokalypse it will look like? How will it play out? What will be left in the ashes?

Wanted to ask a thing about YouTube premium, if premium users don't get ads how does it work for the creators that rely on ads? Do you have any insight on that?

Not much of a question but more of an observation, Bethesda claiming that canvas bags were "too expensive" kind of makes me wonder what the gaming industry DOESN'T consider "Too expensive", y'know? It was hard to take "too expensive" seriously but now it looks even worse.

Oops, I thought pressing enter would just move to the next line(!) My question is.. "A lot of us (i.e all of us) are looking forward to your end of year lists! But given the absolute state of so-called AAA games this year, do you have a clear idea of the ratio of AAA to Indie games on your Shittiest Games of 2019? If so, can you offer my hot, wet ass a sneaky hint? "
