2018-10-28 01:21:33 +0000 UTCThe holding a button thing makes a lot of sense to me from a game design perspective (if, of course, used appropriately) because it's just a smoother way of asking the player "are you sure you want to do this?" without giving them annoying popups. In that way it actually makes things less cumbersome. Unless they use it for EVERYTHING, obviously.

I've lived in Poland all my life and, guess what, conservative as we may be as a nation, plenty of people (especially in the kind of demographics that are attracted to video games) do not live under a rock. A video game company, international audience or not, should know better. It's not about "but we're a POLISH company!", it's 100% about quietly aligning themselves with the hardcore right-wing bros that are as commons among Polish gamers as they seem to be in the US. Anyway, I don't really believe they didn't know what they were doing. I'm 90% positive it was a deliberate "wink wink, nudge nudge" towards the kind of people who'd be amused by "triggering the libruls".

Actual human adults who get worked up over their favourite franchises seems to be the price our species has to pay for having evolved the ability to think in abstractions. We would of been better off if we ignored environmental pressures and stayed in the tree canopies. I also enjoyed the Trumplodyte baiting immensely... :3
