No Man's Sky Next And The Concept Of The Mega Patch (The Jimquisition)

Two years on, and No Man's Sky is finally living up to a significant portion of its promise. It's not the first game to get a "Megapatch" and it won't be the last.

Games these days are thoroughly mutable, but that can be a bad thing as well as a good thing. Let's look at the things!

It bears note that "We Happy Few" may have mega-patched- but they also raised the price, punishing the people who weren't "loyal" enough to buy the game when it wasn't finished. If the forums on GOG are anything to go by, that went over like a lead balloon.

Show for me in Subscriptions and Notifications o.O

I kinda want a JFSS pin though. :| I wouldn't know about it if he didn't mention it!

I never did play No Man's Sky when it launched, but watched some twitch streams. I did however buy it this week when they released the patch. It's good! Not great, though it makes a real effort at getting there. Still don't blame anyone who isn't into it--I don't know how much it will really grab me outside of playing 4-player co-op with my normal little group, but I'm pretty happy with it for now.

The ad for your merch is annoying. I thought Patreon made the Jimquisition ad-free.

Great vid and great points made.

So true Jim. I bought No Man's Sky at release for PS4 (shame on me). A month after I got a new PC. I have only turned on my PS4 once since then. That was just to cancel my PS+ subscription. That is just me though. MNS looks a lot better now, but I am not buying it again Cheers mate
