Metal Gear Survive - It Is Shit (Jimpressions)

I thought they'd at least TRY and make it feel like Metal Gear, but instead it truly is a derivative, irritating, bog-standard survival game.
There was so much rubbish to laugh at I forgot to even mention the microtransactions!

I watched Graham from LoadingReadyRun play this shit on stream, and yeah, this is straight awful. The most interesting thing about the game is when you compare certain elements to other games. You have two computer voices doing a 'comedy' routine against each other, like in Portal 2. You have extradimensional zombies with weird things on their heads, like in Half-Life. You have a 4 player Co-op game against zombie hordes, like in Left 4 Dead. So basically, Konami decided to rip-off all of Valve and threw a Metal Gear skin over it for some reason. The screen randomly going in and out of focus gave me a headache, because it felt like I was having a migraine attack. The You Are Spotted sound is very odd and jarring in this game. The two AI things can't stop talking, making you want to mute the game, at least if the eating sounds didn't already make you do that (Especially bad with female characters). Yeah, this game is a massive pile of turds that you want to turn off, almost a minute after starting to play it.

But nope, what hope I had that they could learn from what sunk many franchises is a lesson still to be learned. 2018-02-22 02:55:56 +0000 UTCI kinda wanted to see how this game would hold up. Did the game just release on all platforms? 'cause I was looking at a final boss video. Anyway... I could only see 5 enemies in there. The walkers, the bloated ones that blow up, walkers that jump and do acrobatics, a dude with a giant arm that was a boss earlier, and the giant guy you're supposed to kill at the end... Gameplay seemed interesting for a moment, but keeping in mind all the BS that surrounds it, I think I'll give it a rather wide berth and just wait for Sunless Skies or something.
