Talent Is An Asset (The Jimquisition)

Little late to the party, but I'd argue that Player Unknown's Battle Grounds is the definitive example of 'talent is an asset'. Yes, it's built from premade assets, but it was a viral success and the fact you have AAA devs copying the designs presented and the whole concept after it's massive success (and regardless of whether it was the first or not, it was the first massively successful one). I mean, we're talking about something that's arguably on its way to birthing it's own genre in the same way 'soulsborne' became a thing given how much I hear about it. If that doesn't prove that there is a secret sauce, a hidden element, something an alchemy of design, assets, coding, and context/narrative/writing that makes something greater than the sum of it's parts, then I don't think anything could. Edit: Also just saying, I've barely played the game and personally dislike the genre, just not my style, but on a professional level it's impressive as hell what was built, when taking into account not just the game but it's spread, community, and impact on the industry given there copy cats from AAA developers popping up.

I think Jim needs to be punished for fucking up his punishment. And Chip should issue it! Chip should make a comback for REVENGE! But how can one punish Jim Fucking Sterlingson? Maybe make him read out statements from corporate mouthpieces in a serious tone. Or sing praise for Randy Pitchford. Or play Aliens: Colonial Marines. Or be forced to sit in a room filled with screens displaying obnoxious twitch streamers until he cracks! Except he'd probably enjoy it, because he's Jim Fucking Sterling, son. Seriously, I would *love* to see a Chip's Revenge segment in next week's Jimquisition.
