The Spin-off Doctors: DOOM

Your doctors cut open the carcass of DOOM, discussing the total lack of demons, The Rock's sudden heel turn, and anachronistic videogame products.

Oh, and don't worry... we spend quite some time talking about THAT little first-person segment. You know the one.

Great podcast! I must have looked like a lunatic giggling and laughing alone in my car while I listened to Conrad's subtle admission to perving over Rosamund Pike's breasts (I'm with you Jim, I hadn't noticed them at all). Roll on Street Fighter! Thanks guys

(I hit the enter key to make a new paragraph. I didn't know the enter key would upload my comment) My other big problem was an absolutely horrible exchange between Rosamund Pike's doctor character and the Marines. When the group is trying to figure out what kind of creatures are attacking them, one of the Marines suggested aliens. The doctor replied something like, "You mean aliens? That's ridiculous." OH MY GOD! That was one of the dumbest statements from a "smart/tech/expert character that I've ever heard in a movie. The only way such an atrocious line could have been justified is if another Marine immediately replied with something like, "Hey doc! Maybe you've been working up here too long, but we are on MARS! Technically, we are aliens from another planet." or "Yo lady, we are on Mars. Remember? We're a bunch of ETs trying to get home."

Here are my two main problems with the Doom movie. First, what is the point of going to another planet, if that planet is only shown twice in the story? 90% of that movie takes place in a generic research facility. That place was supposed to have been modified from the Martian's machinery and architecture. Aside from a few walks, that place didn't look alien-inspired at all. One of the two times the surface of Mars was shown was a character's quick glance from a vent.
