The Jimquisition: Shenmue 3 - The Good, The Bad, And The Iffy

It was an undeniably strong E3 2015 last week, with little room for upset. Unless you're a Metroid fan, obviously. After days of strong representation, exciting new games, Final Fantasy VII, and a PC showcase that lasted seventeen hours, it's time to get back down to earth.

Let's chat about Shenmue 3, shall we? The game tore the roof off the place when it was unveiled, but questions about its Kickstarter lie in the wake. Is this a good or a bad thing? Should it even be? Is it simply inflating a soon-to-burst crowdfund bubble?

The Jimquisition discusses. Because that's what we do, son.

"It's probably gonna be decent." Best sales pitch ever! One many AAA developers/publishers would utter were they to be honest...

Haha, actually I use my Squirty Play pocket money on Kickstarter. The Patreon cash goes into the join account which is used for funding various show things, and paying bills/grown-up stuff.

Its kinda a funny thought experiment... By us supporting Jim through Patreon then Jim going and giving money to a kickstarter... are we therefore supporting that kickstarter? Cause if so... all 3500 of us wants our swag! :P

8 hour from my house to Frisco... will it be worth it?

I am excited about this game because it will be released on PC. I am glad I didn't back it up. I rather benefit from everyone else because I don't trust Kickstarter. I rather Patreon.

I have the same concerns but I like Boyes and Yoshida and the people running Playstation right now. This may turn out fine but its EA and some of the other publishers I'm worring about. Holy crap Horizon Zero Dawn....thanks for the quick comment didn't even know about this. Wow.
