Podquisition Episode Four Is Live!

I'm back with Laura and Gav to discuss Hatred, Ubisoft's latest bollocks, pornography for beginners, and a big plate of chips! I am very much enjoying this show! :-)

The ending to Laura's experience with the chips has clearly ruined the entire chip experience for her. She should beg McKane to change the chip ending. Perhaps with cupcakes.

Hi Jim, can you please fix your recording setup? Gavin sounds great (of course) Laura sounds fine (if lacking a little presence), but you sound like you're recording on a phone in a bathroom. I think the number one thing you need to do is put some acoustic dampening material around the place - like hang a bunch of blankets on the walls. But with your Patreon money, you really should upgrade to proper recording hardware, given that this is your job now. Definitely get a Shure SM7B microphone (yeah, you can get cheaper, but why muck about with inferior gear, when you are earning a living from it?). The rest of the gear on the list is well advised, too: http://www.caseyliss.com/2014/11/22/how-i-make-podcasts You can get all of that, a truly great recording rig, for less than a week's worth of your Patreon income. And this stuff has great resale value if you ever quit podcasting, unlike the cheaper stuff, which quickly loses value. Now, with the gear out of the way, follow the advice of "really give a crap" and read this excellent article about technique and process: http://www.marco.org/2014/11/29/easy-listening

I'm glad someone is talking about the absurd size of patches nowadays. Even games I love, such as Payday 2, have large patches/expansions every other week. It's gotten to the point where a game about 4 characters pulling heists and shooting things takes up OVER 30 SODDING GIGABYTES on my PC.
