We've already spoken at length about a lot of these things so I will just say; very strong points.

2024-04-06 17:08:45 +0000 UTCSince the vote ends this Sunday because the conclusion chapter will be published instead of the usual BG3 chapter this Monday, I get out my analysis as soon as I can. There are a lot of smaller points that are worth discussing, like the origin of the Turaise power, how would Dark Fin take Coda-Fin's place in the simulation, how Georgius who is a Traveler can be in the Odyssey, the relationship between Soul, Aura & Soma, etc... But I'll cut the chase and focus on the vote. There is literally a Maelstrom of emotions in me right now, and I do feel a bit pressured in getting it out, even if unsorted, as soon as I can. Personally, I vote for going to Earth, for quite a few reasons, most deeply personal. First, in discussing with Rickart, he made an extremely valid point. I have been vocal enough about the treatment of Yeong's character at the end of Runner and how I disagree with it. In a way, we "killed" the old Yeong. And right now, we can "kill" Fin. In fact, these choices are much more alike than it seems, but it is even worse. We managed to "fix" Yeong with time and effort. A luxury Fin won't be afforded with a true death, the end of all possibilities. I second that thought : "No one should choose to die under no circumstances". The very fact that this choice is present should prove that the very system needs to change. Now for the big, personal chunk. I have some deep, fundamental disagreement with Winter about the deeper lore, how the NTVerse "functions". Not that my input matters much, she is the Creator and me a lowly subscriber, but that doesn't change the fact that there are bits I hate. And that can be summed up in one word : Aura. It's sheer omnipotence irks me to no end, for a very specific reason. Earth's universe being devoid of it while still being able to be influenced by it make that nothing in our universe can oppose and challenge that status quo (despite the many interesting quirks our own universe harbor). There would be a way to "even the odds", and that would be to "seed" Earth's universe with Aura that would grow ad infinitum over time. And I think Fin traveling there would help in that regard, hence my vote. But even then, I do feel like having to "submit" by resorting to adopt Aura is a confession of weakness & impotence, to be frank. If we don't, we can't affect anything and thus, we don't matter. We are inherently worthless. I feel like sending Fin to Earth is the best move we can make with the hand we've been dealt. But the game feels rigged from the start, with skewed rules. And that doesn't make me happy, whatever the outcome. While those considerations never affected the "chapter to chapter" events, right now, they flare hot in my veins. You have every right to disagree with me. This is nothing but my point of view.
