On of the quirks of the Fennek ring is that the moment it struck the mountainside and settled it formed a tesseract between two points. So when Goblins discovered the Giant Ring deep in their mountains they would have looked in and seen another sky, but, because of their nature where most would consider it a mirracle they wanted to figure it out and that is where their study of the Rings and advanced Aura manipulation started from.
