Hi.

Important stuff out of the way first. If you care about perks, please read the below because this info may apply to you and how you receive your perks.

As you have probably heard over the past month from every other Patreon account you are subscribed to, some major changes are happening with the Patreon app in the Apple store. And, because of Apple, there are other changes happening that affect EVERYONE regardless of how you subscribed. Here's what you need to know about my changes specifically:

• This Patreon will be automatically forced into subscription mode at some point in the near future, "beginning in November 2024." Subscription billing means that Patrons will be billed on the same day every month, corresponding to the day that they subscribed -- NOT, as it is currently, at the beginning of the month regardless of when you subscribed. I frankly don't know what this means for people who have already subscribed prior to this change -- you may have your subscription date set to the first of the month, or it might change to the actual day of the month on which you originally subscribed. Either way, I apologize in advance for any hassle this may cause. Unfortunately I don't have any control over this.
  

• Any new subscriptions that are done via the Apple store will be charged an additional 30% fee for using the Apple store. Some creators have chosen to eat this cost as a cost of business. However, I can't afford to do this, so unfortunately it's just going to be more expensive for those of you who want to use the Apple store to subscribe.
  

Ways to get around this fee include: Don't use the apple store (subscribe via your browser instead).

Allegedly, people who have subscribed to via the Apple store prior to this change will not be charged this additional fee. (I've also heard and seen some evidence that my Patreon account isn't even discoverable on the Apple store because it contains adult content, so this may be a complete non-issue lol)

As you probably are aware, I run this Patreon on a monthly cycle, with perks corresponding to the days (roughly) of the month. This is why I have been using the beginning-of-the-month payment model and not changed to the subscription model. However, I don't intend to change my perks model because I honestly don't know how I would do it without completely overhauling my entire business and publication model... I just don't have the mental bandwidth to figure it out right now.

The short version of how this affects Patrons, though, is this: When you subscribe now, you're subscribing for a 30/31-day term, not for a term of the calendar month, so it is now up to you to schedule your subscription so you get the perks that you want based on what happens each month.

In an effort to make things work for everyone, including myself, I will be planning the perk schedule for time-sensitive posts in advance and posting them at the top of each monthly newsletter, which are visible to the public.

Please use this calendar/schedule to decide when you'd like to subscribe. Also note this schedule will not include perks that can be viewed after the fact, since you can just access them whenever you want after you subscribe.

September 21 marks Familiar's 5th anniversary. Can you believe it? This year I'm planning to do another DITYS (details to come soon so you can start working on your pieces to be shared on the day) and I have a new mostly-wall-friendly print. Originally I was going to try to get a limited edition of the print done special with gold foil, but the print place could not get the foil done right so I abandoned that. I will post a digital version of the image to Patreon soon, and then I'll plan to post to socials and release the print to the shop on the 21st.

Some news and info about Chapter 20 HOME

Chapter 20 is running longer than an average plot chapter and so my current plans are to work on this one for a 4-month period and aim for it to be twice as long, and release it in two parts. In August I got 18 thumbnails done and I have about 18 left to go. So, this release schedule will be similar to 15 WET and will still result in about the same number of pages droping every other month.

This is also the last scheduled plot chapter in the Familiar script before the finale.

What does this mean? It means we're in the last leg of the Familiar journey, my friends. But not to fear, Familiar is not ending any time soon. After chapter 20 I still have at least 4 filler chapters I want to do, and I believe at this point that the finale will be about 3 parts long (around 60 pages). So, we still have at least another year, if not a year and a half to two years, left in the script.

New stuff in development; previews in Seeker tier starting November 2024

Those of you in the Seeker tier have caught some whispers about my move into what-comes-next. I will be speaking more about this in that tier later this autumn when the tarot readings end (last reading will be October) and that tier becomes my Everything-Familiar plus Everything-New sneak preview tier.

But for now what I can say is that I am working on developing a long-running NSFW/kink webcomic that is engineered in a lab for millennials looking for meaning in their life and discovering - surprise - BDSM ... as well as a couple standalone/one-off comics based on popular images I've done gone and drawn. If you're interested in this stuff, there will be more to come later on as we get closer to Familiar wrapping up.
