New Video: What's Wrong with Capitalism (Part 1)

New territory for this channel. Probably the topic requested most often.
Basically I intend this video as a general introduction to my views. I introduce a lot of topics without plunging too deep into any one of them (deeper plunges reserved for later videos in this series). I spend the first half of the video trying to frame a critique of capitalism in a way that is broadly relatable, with particular ambitions of drawing in some of that woefully misdirected white male angst we’re all so familiar with.
As usual the persuasive target is people who aren’t already enthusiastic anti-capitalists. Since this is the first video in the series, the arguments presented here (about alienated labor, advertising) are chosen because they are accessible rather than because they are necessarily the most devastating objections to capitalism.
Later sections return to questions of general strategy and Tabbyish internecine leftist conflicts. I think with politics there should always be plausible goals in view, and I don’t see the point in creating anti-capitalist screeds without keeping in mind what those goals are or could be.
I’ve tried to focus throughout on the human element, on people’s experiences rather than more technical analysis. That and the ongoing psychedelia I’m hoping keep lively what can often be an extremely boring topic.

Everything said about earlier videos could be restated - that you're making quick progress, that you have a great eye, that your content is relevant and you are doing a great job preparing it in ways that make seemingly dreary topics intriguing to watch - but you already know. Just let me point out how much Tabby made me laugh in this one. The "unsubscribed" at the end was so perfectly timed :) Also, I don't know how much you're aware of this, but the structure of your videos has from the earliest days on replicated Agitprop theatre and Brechtian epic theatre with the alternating political content, skits, Verfremdungseffekte and songs (I guess you really ARE a tankie confirmed). Actually, it's probably more an example of parallel evolution. I again loved Claudia Brown's little cameo. Great that you are doing these cross-promotions, because they really help the smaller content producers. At this opportunity, I'd like to mention another small YouTuber whom you might not know yet: Malmrose Projects. She's also a trans woman, a sociology student, and a frequent target of hate mail. Her content is a bit bar bones, though she has made great progress there, but content-wise she is VERY good. Problem is, she's not really connected to anyone yet. A couple of smaller ones like Skutch and Guinevere are following her, and even Shaun, but none of the "natural fits" – no Kristi Winters, no Riley Dennis, no Lindsay Ellis, no Zinnia Jones. Which makes it easier for bigots to dogpile her. So in case you can do something to integrate her into the community, I think she'd really appreciate that. (No relation on my side apart from supporting her on Patreon, too, and having talked to her on Twitter.) If I had lived through a number of shitstorms and fallen into depression, I wouldn't have had a new video ready within a couple of weeks :) I wouldn't have come out from under my bed for a year. So you might not feel like you're doing great, but trust your audience on this. You're doing great.
