The Costume Shop Mini-Update
Added 2021-06-10 23:30:45 +0000 UTCI'm very happy to say that while roughing out the rest of The Costume Shop pages, I went through the script, and finalized the panel guide I use for laying out pages, as well as the number of pages!
The Costume Shop Chapter 5: Cake Wars will contain a whopping...
56 PAGES!
I have fully finished up to Page 39, and roughed out up to Page 44, so I only need to rough out 11 more pages after that. Some of it is just characters talking which will fuel the story, and aftermath of the cake battle itself.
So here is my plans on what to do with this information. I am going to start planning The Costume Shop Kickstarter. My goal is to fund a small print run, but also go back and re-do almost every page of this chapter. I started this one back in 2017, after the "Season 1" book came out, and my art style and quality has grown dramatically since then. I'd like to match earlier pages to look as consistent as possible. And if it gets enough funding, I will go back into the entirety of Chapters 1-4 to re-do it too. This could include hiring a colorist or BG artist to fully update past pages, and make a more definitive version of this comic.
So right now it's the plan to have a Chapter 5 Book and PDF, as well as a Chapter 1-5 collection Book and PDF. The Kickstarter will also have upgrades to make the 1-5 Collection be hardcover / better paper and print quality etc.
It will also give people a chance to commission a comic page with their character in it, artist editions and more.
