Fractal Horse Wins! - Custom Dungeon Strugglers Mount

It looks like the winner of the poll is the Fractal Horse! Thank you for voting!
We have some preliminary ideas for the concept, but we'd love to hear your thoughts on what you would like its design, mechanics, and lore to be. The concept so far:
- The mount will be able to compress itself in to a small cube, which can be stowed in a pack and carried.
- It will have scaling stats, akin to the Steel Defender or Beast Master companions, so it's always a relevant companion at any level.
- It will gain new abilities at certain levels, like a subclass. At those levels you will be able to specialize its abilities by embedding it with an enchanted gem, sort of like Diablo's weapon socket system. As the mount levels, it gains more sockets for gems. Each gem will carry one function, like extra health, flight, or blood-powers etc., and the gems will be obtained by short quests that you or your DM can dole out! The customization will be optional, and the base mount will function like a trusty (magitech) steed.
