These writhing masses of animated sap are another threat that adventurers must avoid when venturing into a bloodwood grove. While the territorial gumnut drakes fight to ward off intruders, sap spawns are actively hunting for prey. Once encountered, the sap spawn quickly engulfs its quarry and then rapidly hardens, sealing the creature inside of its now-crystalline body, called an amber tomb. Littered throughout the Sunken Sapden, unfortunate creatures can be found, their last moment of horror preserved in amber for eternity. Veteran adventurers know that fire, while risky, is a quick way to explosively dispatch these enemies.
