Mace of Swells
Weapon (mace), rare (requires attunement)
Gnarled within the driftwood handle of this mace is an orb of elemental water. You gain a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon and it can be used as a spellcasting focus.
As an action you can summon a protective bubble of water from the mace to surround you. The bubble is just large enough to enclose you entirely. Water cannot pass through the bubble, and inside it is breathable air. The bubble is stationary and floats in the spot in which it was created for 1 minute. The bubble is dispersed if a Large or larger creature or object passes through its space. You can pass through the bubble freely, although a creature other than yourself treats the area as difficult terrain. Any ranged weapon attack that passes through the bubble has disadvantage on the attack roll, and fire damage is halved if the fire effect passes through the bubble to reach its target. Once this property has been used, it cannot be used again until the next dawn.
Bubble Beam. When you take the Attack action while you are within the bubble, you can replace one or more of your attacks with a special water blast attack. Choose a target that you can see within 60 feet of you and make a ranged weapon or spell attack roll. You are proficient with this attack. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 bludgeoning damage and its movement speed is reduced by 5 feet.
Protected from the scorching heat of the dragon’s breath within a sphere of swirling water, the druid stood her ground. She touched the head of her mace to the sphere and a jet of pressurized water launched forth, striking the beast in its flank. This was enough to convince the dragon that the druid wasn’t worth the trouble, and it sauntered off to find easier prey.
