The itch.io Situation Update

TL;DR The Feedee Next Door is back on itch.io browser but that other game is probably canceled

The Feedee Next Door is now relisted on the itch.io browser. Done by removing the donation feature which isn't a huge hit to me since most people just go to the patreon so they can get the benefits and getting payments throught itch.io took forever and they take a sizable cut.

I am glad it's back. The views and downloads for episode 5's public release were a fraction of what they were previously and I think the delisting was a big part of that. So hopefully this returns the project back to where it was. It's a shame this all happened right as a new episode came out. Maybe I should have waited but I didn’t know what was going to happen and I didn’t want to make people wait for it when it was already done. As it stands episode 5, at least analytically, was a complete dud. Very depressing. But I am happy that it's back up at all as I didn’t really see that happening. I definitely don't think we've seen the end of this. But its nice to see some hope that this thing won't crash and burn entirely.

This project won't be so effected by this but unfortunately the other one I had planned on releasing this month is. I mentioned it before but I had another feederism game I was making about a feeder couple who open up a diner in attempts to fatten up a small town. I had a lot of hopes for it and was enjoying the premise and the simplicity of it. It wasn't a visual novel but a 2D pixel art game where you serve customers and upgrade your diner to watch the town's obesity rate grow overtime. I kept it simple so the features that were there would be polished and complete. It wasn't going to be a live service game like TFND but a complete game you could buy for a flat price and get what you paid for. I actually planned on making a few of these so Black Bar Games could have a catalog of games instead of just 1 like I'd intended awhile back. Unfortunately, since itch.io and steam don't support payment for these games, that completely eliminates that idea. So, even though the project is about 3 weeks in and more than halfway done, I may have to cancel it before I even release an official announcement. I wish I could tell you I'd release the game for free but my free time is limited and games aren't always very fun to make. Especially after you've already been at your desk typing letters for your actual job. If I'm not going to get anything out of the time I spend working on it... its summer... I'd rather go swimming.

I may keep working on it slowly overtime and you may see it some dday since I did really like it. But for right now that project will be shelved and my time wasted.

Anyway, I'm glad TFND has some hope to keep growing but it might be the only other feederism game I make.
