The way I visualized and read it in the manga, is the transition to the scene of the robot on the final panel, was just silence and nothing but the drums you can hear beating, followed by an electronic sound that signifies the activation of the robot. So it was similar to G5 where all you heard was the sound "Bdum Bdum Bdum Bdum". Imagine if the episode ended in that way. It would further draw the attention of the audience to the scene of the robot awakening. Instead they opted to use the "over taken" song in place of the scene which ruined the implication imo. The scene of G5 luffy appearing and grabbing kizaru was supposed to be just one panel so it had more shock value, the studio added a few extra transitional scenes which gave it more momentum but took away the shock value. But again the direction of this ep was not the best. TOIE is not going to put their A team on episodes like this since this chapter was mainly just a setup chapter for the really big moments coming up.
