Neronvain's Stronghold Map Pack!

This Map Pack is my interpretation of Neronvain's Stronghold, a cavernous lair for a powerful dragon worshiper and his Green Dragon. Nestled safely behind the cover of a waterfall, the cavern contains several minions, who keep watch and guard both the lair, as well as the lord himself, when necessary. The maps is from the module Rise of Tiamat, but I've included a "clean" version that could simply be a dungeon in your homebrew campaign!

Neronvain's Stronghold is located within a Misty Forest, which is lightly obscured at all times with a thin veil of mist. I've included two versions, one that is sunny and bright and one that reflects this eternally misty and dim surround to reinforce the mood of the location, as written. The forest is home to many creatures, including tribes of elves, some of which have even been pressed into service to Neronvain and the Green Dragon.

I've expanded the exterior a bit, to allow for more of an approach and perhaps some kind of exterior encounter, should you wish it. The stronghold begins once the PC's have moved through the waterfall into the cave beyond. There are several secret cracks and crevices within the caves, allowing for the party to sneak past certain guard stations, or take them out (through combat or deception) prior to alerting the rest.

The location has some interesting features:

  1. The stronghold is hidden behind a waterfall, which may be obvious or not to the players searching for the lair. Entering quietly may be a challenge.

  2. A large body of water in the central cavern provides some interesting tactical options for the dragon, as well as challenges for the players.

  3. The actual lair was not described in the module, so I took the liberty of adding several stone columns, covering the floor with vines and providing a few stone ledges that the dragon could fly between, perch upon or otherwise use during an encounter.

  4. I added a stone hole in the wall within the lair, for a secondary exit, in case you wanted to make use of that for your own version of the story.

Oh man, literally running that one tonight. Talk about timing... please tell me you're going to do Xonthal's, and the Well of Dragons? :-)
