Sam & Cat 2 FIRST 10 HOURS

Okay, so mixed news this week. First of all, I have the first 10 hours done of this video! Will soon be arriving at closer to 11 hours, after I get back from my vacation.

However, I am having serious technical difficulties. The YouTube upload limit is supposed to be 12 hours, but I have uploaded test videos past this limit before. Indeed, a simple search can show evidence of many other YouTubers posting content as long as 24 hours. Thus, I've been planning this video with the presumption that it could be longer than 12 hours.

BUT, for some reason... SOMETIMES... if a video longer than 12 hours gets a copyright claim, the upload fails. Basically, a copyright claim can cause a video to once again be bound by the 12-hour limit. If this video didn't have any copyright, then I'd easily be able to post 13+ hours, but the copyright claims are causing it to fail.

I've tried to get YouTube support to help, but they seem outwardly unhelpful. So basically, once I have a full edit of this video, it seems likely that I'll have to split the video. I'll probably either spit it off at the "book review" or I'll split it after the Things I Forgot intermission. I just worry the video will do a lot worse if split in half, and I am really terrified of killing the channel when everything's been going so well.

So I'd appreciate some good vibes about the hour or so of new material in this video! I hid a really great visual gag in the new TIF material, and I'm excited to see who notices first!

This could be just a guess, and isn't really a solution to the 12 hour video more just a hopeful diagnosis. But I know whenever I upload a video, the copyright stuff isn't actually displayed until the video has fully finished uploading and at least finished the initial processing before all quality levels are available. As a result, I imagine that YouTube probably didn't consider that the error could be as a result of a copyright claim. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised if when an upload error occurs, the first thing they check in the code would be if the video is longer than 12 hours. Then if so, it's a case of just throwing the "12 hours" error and they don't need to worry about it anymore, even though the source of the original error wasn't that 12 hours. Again, not very helpful in regards to actually getting a longer video through, but perhaps at least a reason as to why the error displayed is incorrect, as I bet it doesn't even check the length unless an error is thrown if you're a partner, even though they say it's a hard limit. Google are famously not very good at updating their documentation to be helpful, so the 12 hour thing could be a legacy everyone forgot about, and the size limit is all that matters (for partners at least).

I never realized Swindle (the movie) is just Leverage for kids.

11 minutes in and I'm realizing this show would have been so much better if they had done a jump street knock off rather than the random meeting/roommate/babysitting thing

I couldn't help popping onto the patreon for the wip version of the video, I'm still so so excited for the completed video :'))) [Maybe I've watched all the videos twice, I'm going to choose to skip over this detail for my own sanity] 8:13:21 this is so funny but so infuriating on the shows part just on the basis that just having watched Victorious that Cat could mess someone up if she wanted to - the entire Cell Block episode proved that considering it took both Jade AND Tori to hold her down vs the entire group of five trying to hold her back (almost knocking most of them out in the process LOL). Victorious went out of its way to point out Cat was scrappy in her own right that bit felt like such a disregard to her character (but what's new for Sam & Cat)

the way i finally finished watching this and just felt like a void in my brain and soul bc of the immediate cutoff, bc i thought my vid was just buffering and it was actually just at the end 🤣 but yassss i loved everything about S&C P2 and especially the lecture segment, plz come to texas and do one in my living room thank you 🙏🏽

Hey Linkara! That's a rather poignant analysis of the last episode. Probably a better one than the show deserves, but a good one. It's so weird getting into a project like this where we know so many messed up things that surrounded this series of shows, but I still find myself invested and wanting to know where it's going and what's going to happen next.

Okay, Quinton, I'm just going to say it: Wiggin' is a PERFECT finale for Sam & Cat. It perfectly embodies how terrible the main plots are while making a much more entertaining and wholesome B-plot, Cat - as a member of the Victorious gang - is a bit of a monster, herself, and the assault of the child proof that she really needed some kind of consequence for her terrible actions and by proxy awful people getting SOME kind of comeuppance, and the thing that really resonates with me: Sam finally has a caring mother figure. After how much abuse and hardship she's had, especially with her actual mother, having someone who's nice to her, caring for her, provides food for her, and just in general a more loving environment feels like a worthwhile way to see her off. And it highlights how these Sam and Cat, as an odd couple, just does not work and they're better off apart.
