NEW VID - Motel Makeover

EDIT: Updated with final public link.

Hey all!

This was a really fun one to make! I still have a few tweaks to do (rerecording a line or two, adding a sentence here or there for clarity) but I'm excited to hear what you think. I made some really serious, academic videos in 2021, so I wanted to finish the year with something a bit lighter, a bit goofier. Motel Makeover is a Netflix reality show about two rich ladies who renovate a motel... and then Covid strikes. It's wild. The final version of the video will be uploaded on January 3rd.

After this, the next video I have planned is on Twin Peaks Season 3, so look forward to that!

Also a Michigander and I fell out of my chair when you said you’re from here. It’s a shame to hear that developers and speculators are pushing people out of your town, as they are in mine.

Me, a Michigander, appreciating people telling the fakkin' FIPs to keep their dirty feet out of our sand keeping my Patron promise. Keeping saying it louder for the people in the back.

I'm from VERY close to Sauble Beach, and watching this video was very weird for me. In a good way, but still weird.

What a wonderful, terrifying way to start the new year! Always love your videos - you and your team are great. Thanks especially for calling out the b******t 'small government' lies of my fellow Republicans. The rapaciousness of the entrepreneurial class really is frightening to me, and both parties are guilty of enabling it (California's Democrats are nearly as bad in terms of enabling the entrepreneurs to remake what they like and suck money into the big cities). Even if it can lead to some improvements in areas like technology or efficiency, areas like real estate just seem like a black hole sucking in all the money and leaving a husk behind to blow away in the wind (to mix my metaphors).

Speaking as an observer in this world at this time usw, what you do makes things a lot less dreary. Tell you what though, I have a project that I have to look into and it is an Atari 800Xl game called "Edmund Hillary's Pork Pie Palace". I've pretty much figured out how the display list and all that works, but the gameplay...the purpose. It's like this - you have to try to get fannciness points by lowering a ladder from this thing which is inspired by a peppelat from "Kin Dsa Dsa" (I'm pretty sure you know about that awesome movie), and this ladder has to make contact with fancy things like cement mixers, roadsweepers, jeeps, woodchippers, lawnmowers (oh, there are Ollish words for these things). The problem is - yeah, there are things which will cause hassles like flying scallops that try to steal the fanciness points - I just don't know how the game play is going to work out. In truth, it is the end of this year and I have doubts about how next year will go, but...eh. It's just a depressing time of year I suppose, but...what ye have wrought and what ye continue to...wring? makes things much more bearable. Thank you.
