100k Subscriber Livestream Q&A this Saturday

EDIT: Here's the link to the livestream tomorrow: https://youtu.be/-JkJHG_gtik

Hey all!

To celebrate crossing the 100k subscriber mark on YouTube, I'm doing a livestream Q&A this Saturday, January 30th at 1pm PST / 4pm EST. First off, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT! There's no way I could've gotten to 100k without you! So I wanted to give you lovely patrons first dibs at submitting questions. So simply reply to this post with any questions, or things you'd like me to comment on (movies, TV shows, current events, your favorite obscure flavor of soda, my hero SpongeBob, or whatever) and I'll make sure to make your replies a priority.

I'll be talking about my channel, about upcoming projects, about my new show SSCC, about my podcast that I always forget to mention, about my kitties Lewis & Murphy, and anything else that sounds fun!

(I reserve the right not to answer questions that are too personal, or weird or whatever, but I can't imagine you folks will submit anything like that!!!)

Comments

Congratulations on reaching 100K! If you had to recommend one episode of SpongeBob to someone who’s never watched the show before, which would it be and why?

Matthew Zeidman

I'm glad to see your work clicking with so many folks, it's exactly the type of socially conscious film theory I live for. My question for the stream is: If you could have anybody do a guest voice in one of your videos, who would it be and what would they read?

Bugsy

Thought of another one! Since the new "Snyder Cut" has a release date, are you going to add it as a part 4 to the Snyder take down?

Any collabs we can look forward to in the future??

Have there been any recent trends in film/tv over the past few years that you like/dislike?

CONGRATS! So happy for you and clearly your hard work is paying off. What does your creative process typically look like/how do you pick the content you make your videos about?

Will there be more short films like “Change”?

Who are your 5 favorite working filmmakers today?

Yoav Fine

Given your recent Snyder series, what can we expect thematically from the Justice League Snyder Cut?

I've always been extremely impressed with how well-researched and sourced your work is, so my question as somebody who adores studying media would be: what is the research process like once you've got an idea for a video?

You deserve each and every one of those subscribers and more! As for suggestion, if the recent The Watch tv-serial seems even tiny bit interesting to you, would be great to hear your thoughts. A very messy production that mostly ignores its source material, and when not, criticizes it (which I love, as a fan of said source material). Most Discworld fans hate it so I haven't been able to discuss it with anyone, and so haven't put much thought into how well the show really handles the social justice issues it tries to deal with.

How are you doing with everything in SoCal and with adapting to a new way of delivering content? It's been seamless and amazing from our perspective but our hearts are with y'all.

Brian Ganninger

I know Snyder films are a bit much and you just got done with some of them but are you ever thinking of doing a video on Batman V Superman? In terms of movies, nothing has a hold on me quite like that. It's an "everything" bagel made by Amelia Bedelia. You can tell there was a bit of heart behind it by someone who kind of understands how to shoot movies but has trouble with things like "theme" and "motivation".

Fel Martins

What is the worst film you've seen that you'll defend? Not just a film generally considered bad that you think is secretly good, but that you agree is bad but still advocate for.

Patrick Gallagher

What film that does not pass the Bechdel test would you most like to rewrite/reshoot and how would you advise writers/directors to avoid a failing Bechdel grade?

Dave Blanchard

You have an excellent ability to find new, more feminist and LGBTQIA interpretations of a very male-centric film industry. Given how Hollywood seems to want to repeatedly revive their IPs, is there an older franchise you want to see a that has the potential to be reinterpreted this way (the current She-ra remake comes to mind)? What would you personally want to make if you were a showrunner? P.S. What more obsure authors, friends and content creators do you want to let people know about?

Chas Coffman

Well that's great, congrats! My questions are: will there be more Lord of the Rings content? And do you plan to collab with fellow youtube essayists on your main channel? Thanks a lot for everything you do, much love from France.

First of all: CONGRATS! Now, to the serious question. As we've occasionally seen boxes for classic LucasArts games on your shelf (The Dig, Loom, Sam & Max) we must know: which are your favorites? What about them do you find so endearing that they remain with you after all these years?
