New show preview: SSCC

EDIT: Updated with a link to the video's premiere page.

Hey all!

I made a new comedy show with Jamie Loftus called SSCC, and I wanted to give you lovely patrons a preview before we release it publicly next week! It's a post-apocalyptic movie review show, where society has been reduced to a bunch of abandoned Sandals resorts. Jamie and I have been lobotomized, so we try to piece together what the before times was like... by watching movies! All with the help of Computer, played by the wonderful Danielle Radford. With a special guest appearance by Lindsay Ellis.

If you enjoy the show, please feel free to subscribe (it's a new channel) so you see the final version of the episode when we release it, probably Wednesday.

This show isn't officially part of my Patreon--since it's a joint venture between me and Jamie--but I'll still post early previews of the episodes here, and maybe I'll have some behind the scenes stuff for you, as well! We are looking into using a new, co-op crowd sharing platform called Comradery.co to fund the show, and I'll have more details on that in the future.

Episode 1 was a huge undertaking (shooting a tv show in a pandemic is pretty wild, y'all), and it took us six months from shooting, to finally having this episode ready. But we are going to try to shoot more episodes in mid-Feb, and hopefully start pumping them out much faster. Upcoming episodes will include reviews of Jurassic Park, and Terminator 2 (tentatively).

I'm excited to hear what you think!

No worries! Thats part of the reason that this series won't be "officially" part of my patreon. I figured it wouldn't appeal to everyone who joined for my regular videos.

Quite frankly, this was the first of your videos I didn't watch through. You lost me at about 7 minutes. I just didn't get it, too much senseless shouting. Earlier today I read this: https://www.robertcaro.com/interview-with-kurt-vonnegut/ In it at some point Vonnegut says "Or the reader will stop reading". I can imagine how grating it may be to an artist to try and keep the audience engaged. Won't quit supporting you simply because I didn't understand your last video. Hopefully I'll grow as a person to connect better with the next one. Meanwhile big congratulations about the new government!

Just had to pause for a second, because how did I never notice that George LUCAS created Star Wars, and the main character is LUKE? I legit feel like *such* an idiot. Also ... you know what this kind of reminds me of? The argument that someone posted years ago about how "if an alien from another planet learned about Earth from our movies, they'd think [x,y,z] about humankind". This isn't quite the same, but I'm getting similar vibes. Cool. ETA: should probably comment on the video itself, right? That would be polite. Lots of fun Easter eggs (deliberate or otherwise, I'm sure), nice energy, great cast, now worried about Alaska. Thanks!

“We love billionaires!” 🤣 Also the frame with matching 3D glasses on the scull is iconic 🤩 Thanks for sending amazing videos our way!

Received is a mistake! Whoops! Thanks Chris :)

Are "recieived" and the pronunciation of "cache" in the opening crawl intentional? I get that it might be a joke about future people not knowing how things here are, but they really do seem like mistakes and might reflect poorly on the show.

Captivatingly funny and smart as usual. What an absolute treat! “fasci-daddy” 🤣

Brian Ganninger

That was great and there's no way I could deliver half of those lines with a straight face.
