Leona's Abilities

It's about time that I properly explained what Leona exactly does in combat, so no need to mince words! The lipomantic sorceress specializes in supporting the team, primarily through incredibly powerful buffs and her ability to transfer some of her allies' fat to the enemies.

To start, one of the core differences between Leona and the rest of the party is her unique resource. While everyone else has Energy, Leona has Mana that partially recharges between combats. By Manacharging her skills, the sorceress can spend a certain portion of her Mana (with the exact amount depending on the specific ability) to activate extra effects like Soul Simulacrum and Fat Transference, depending on if she's buffing or attacking.

So, you may be asking, what exactly does Fat Transference do? The Manacharged effects of Leona's skills are explained in game, but before I elaborate here, it's important to first understand another of Leona's core mechanics. The sorceress starts each battle with a unique token called Lipomantic Font, and her signature skill allows her to transfer this token onto any of her allies without using an action.

Lipomantic Font does nothing on its own, but all of Leona's Manacharged skills provide beneficial effects to whoever is currently affected by it (exact numbers still subject to change):

By using her signature skill to transfer her Lipomantic Font onto her allies and then expending some of her Mana, Leona can provide solid healing or apply several strong buffs at once to two different members of the party.

Many of Leona's skills provide incredibly powerful effects when Manacharged, but once she's fully run out, the sorceress loses access to her most powerful mechanics. Though she does have the ability to potentially regain some Mana in combat, Leona's kit largely rewards proper resource management and careful consideration of when her strongest skills should be used in order to swing a battle in the party's favor.

And I think that's about it for today's explanation! There are still quite a few different things that Leona can do with all of her skills and passive abilities that I haven't shown, but Lipomantic Font and its interactions with Mana are largely what all of Leona's abilities revolve around.
