Player Survey V: 2024, Results

Happy New Year! It's been awhile, but thanks to all who gave your feedback in the latest survey. I'll be giving results from each of the questions, then some high-level comments/conclusions.

Overall we had 739 responders, all percentages are rounded, so may not quite sum to 100%.

General Gameplay:

How far into the game have you played:

As expected, there was a strong correlation between progressing deep into the game and being willing to fill out a survey, with 16% having beaten the game, 21% in stage 5 and 48% of respondents were in stage 4.

What's your favorite game stage?

43% prefer stage 2, 28% stage 3 and 15% stage 4, slight surprise at how popular stage 2 is, given that it's a "briefer" stage... but from a feminization perspective it does have some of the most important inflection points, so this isn't too surprising.

What progression style do you prefer?

• 29% for enthusiast

• 25% for forced

• 14% for obedient

•  12% for strict

•  13% for voluntary

• 7% for money

This is roughly consistent with past, through I was slightly surprised at forced vs. strict, as I would have expected a preference for the more "extreme" version of things, much like how enthusiast beat obedient and voluntary.

How do you choose your progression style?

55% for playing normally, and 45% for targeting styles... this is a bit surprisingly close to 50/50. The intent is for styles to be more reflective of actions/happen naturally rather than "targets." We may look into a bit of refining for some of the style-routes that require a bit of guide-damnit/contortioning of play to hit, feel free to reach out and suggest candidates to us on discord/elsewhere.

Favorite Scene/Part of the Game:

A fairly wide spread here (as to be expected, given game size) with some major recurring items:

High level categories: VR content, the RPG game, Alex in general, AIKO in general, Antlers in general, extreme bondage, dog scenes, getting collared or in chastity, feminization "progression" scenes, hucow events

specific scenes: Alex in the intro, first pegging scene, Stage 5 "recollaring" scene, collaring Alex, first use of the black box

Do you participate in bug reporting?

• 41% only report bugs if it affects their ability to play the game (thanks for those, but if you wanted to report other/more minor items we'd appreciate it!)

• 33% were unaware of the bug reporting (welcome to the party, a new testing cycle just started for 1.0.5 public so... hop on in!)

• 22% report any bug they fine (thanks! your assistance only makes the game better)

• A mere 4 people (.6%) said that they actively search for bugs... and I know who you are (probably :P)

Characters:

Favorite Primary Character:

Consistent with the past, Antlers (41%) and Alex (34%) combine for a super-majority of preference, with Dr. Synthea (13%) followed by AIKO (6%), Bob (4%) and Kurt (3%)

Primary Character To Get More Content:

Compared to the one-sidedness of preference, this one was VERY evenly spread, with Dr. Synthea (19%), Antlers (16%), AIKO (15%) and Alex (14%) all in the teens, another 18% saying that they're satisfied with things currently, and Bob (9%) and Kurt (8%) both punching above their "character preference" weight. The lack of a particular stand-out means that we will probably overall stay the course.

Additional Content Suggestions for Primary Characters:

Some highlights with commentary, sorted by character

AIKO:

• Dronification/permanent cybernetic bodymods - while not strictly impossible, raises some serious downstream complications in terms of how this would effect the rest of the game... so unlikely

• More relationship, rather than assistance/D/s content with AIKO - theoretically possible, but would need specific direction/inspiration

• More "small scale/impact" AIKO missions - possible, but would need inspiration.

Alex:

• Option to feminize the DND group - technically there's only one character to feminize her (Fabio)... but there are already outlines for this, just haven't had time to write.

• Additional cosplay convention options - theoretically possible, but a fairly heavy lift between art + writing, this was the whole focus of a chunk of release/multiple polls, so there'd need to be something particularly popular/inspiring to add another.

• Two player black box event - possible

• Additional under the desk option with Alex - there's an idea for this I've had kicking around for a bit, I just haven't had time to write

• Force femme Alex scene - I could see this being potentially fun to write.

• Option for her to force-femme/take you shopping earlier - theoretically possible, but not a high priority.

Antlers:

• More "romantic" relationship option - this was suggested several times, will be taken into consideration, it's a bit complicated though, due to scope

• Gym session with Antlers - I could see this being amusing, but wouldn't call it a super priority

• More outside-work content/at her home - there only being the single home event has been brought up before and it's a consideration, but I haven't had enough inspiration for anything more as of yet

• <variations of wanting to dominate Antlers> - This... really isn't that game, there are some ending-specific things in this space but that's about the limit that we're likely to do in this vein.

• Longer-duration stay at Antlers' house - theoretically possible... but complicated in how it both interacts with the generalized task system + would interrupt "flow"/core loop

Bob:

• More pre-date content - possible/the original conception of Bob being the "challenge mode" dating option maybe doesn't make sense as much anymore... but I'd need inspiration as to what (and how to fit it into things)

• Option to romance Bob without being fully femme - this isn't consistent with the original plan for Bob, but makes a bit more sense now. If we end up doing the "femboy" route, this would be part of it.

Kurt:

• Additional "can't pay rent"/option to slut out of such scene options - possible

• Option to confess to him, similar to how you can with Bob - makes sense, will try to add it in somewhere

• Introducing him to Alex - possible

• More options to talk with him - this makes sense, he lacks a "discussion" hub in the way the other major datebles have... I'll consider refactoring + expanding.

• Something where he needs your help with something related to the building - This has interesting potential, but I'd have to think of specifics.

Synthea:

• Move cruel variants - possible, more specific suggestions would be appreciated.

• More "real world" application of her experiments - this exists in a couple places (eg: museum date), more are theoretically possible, but would require specific inspiration.

• More VR variants "interactive" versions of such - several other games were referenced in this context and while that's interesting, we're not really interested in copying others, especially at this "late" in the game.

• Option to dominate Synthea during Friday session - possible.

• More therapy variations of different types of therapy - possible/these are interesting to write, but a bit heavy on the research to get "right."

Favorite Secondary Character:

This one was again a 2-way domination with Candy at 35% and Serena at 33%, rounding out the stragglers was Officer Effiong (10%), Primrose & Twig (6% each), Mr. Pawn (4%), Nurse Sprocket (3%), and Horn (1.2%)

Secondary Character To Get More Content:

This one was FAR more one-sided, with Serena sweeping at nearly half the votes (43%), only 15% satisfied with existing spread, and Effiong (8%), Pawn (4%), Primrose (4%), Twig (4%) and Sprocket (4%) fighting over the remainders. The popularity of Serena means we'll probably do another look at her.

Additional Content for Secondary Characters:

Primrose: 

• option to ask to undergo the same process Primrose used on himself - this could be interesting (if not strictly the SMARTEST thing for the MC to ask for...)

• Being more aggressive with mind-fucking the player - possible, would need to think up specifics

Serena:

• More scenes where she force femmes the MC - possible, though not particularly high priority.

• A lot of cuckoldry requests here (as has historically been the case) - this exists a bit in stage 5... but to be frank is not a primary focus of this game on either a tone, or writing preference, so is unlikely to go beyond the aforementioned stage 5 stuff.

• Option for her to move back in - having a roommate (Serena or others) has been requested... but is considered really complicated to implement for any "upside" it might provide (even for a single roomate, but implementing one triggers a request explosion for others, and don't get me started on combinatorics)

• more options to ask her advice in early game - possible

• Several requests for her to take charge/domme the MC - Serena was specfically designed so subvert several genre cliches, there are plenty of femdoms across the game, this isn't a direction we want to take Serena (exception certain late game/evil events)

Candy:

• more paired-bimbo content - possible, but would need inspiration for what.

Pawn: 

• more scenes/presence in Stage 5 - would probably be good, but need specific ideas.

Tertiary character content:

Bambi: more presence, especially early game - this makes sense from character/foreshadowing perspective, I'll think on how to slip some of it in.

Danny: foreshadowing event/encounter prior to maid content - good idea/would be a simple add

More fleshed out hucow content/ending - I'll be 100 here... I've written well past any ideas I really have in this vertical, so if someone wants more in this vein they're going to need to come in as a VIP tier/tester reward or make specific suggestions (that inspire me)

<coworkers>: Showing additional POV of their perspective on their changes - this could be interesting, I'll think about/add to list.

<coworkers>: Option to do some sort of additional group event outside work - possible.

RPG group: for gas leak/water reasons game gets relocated to your house and chuck happens - possible.

Daphne: "strict"/cruel arc where she does fin-domy things - something of a larger request, but could possibly be interesting/add some angles the game hasn't really hit.

Kat: Option to bring her to the maid cafe for a shift - this could be cute.

Kat: photobombing her way into streams - fun/possible.

Tentans: "Harassment" event outside of work - could be interesting, possible.

Dogmeat, Kat, and Chuck: Similar requests for "more" content - possible, but I've more than blown through about all of my ideas here... so at a minimum specific suggestions would be required.

While not scoring particularly high in the absolute/getting any specific requests, I will also give credit for a couple of very enthusiastic people writing in the Tattooist.

Favorite Stage 5 (ie: evil) character variant:

Bit of a shuffle compared to their "normal" versions, with a near 3-way split between Antlers (28%), Synthea (28%) and Alex (25%), rounding things out were AIKO (9%), Bob (7%) and poor Primrose (2%)

Stage 5 character for more content:

Mostly reflecting the preference, though with a tilt towards "more content" in general:

• Dr. Synthea (38%)

• Antlers (35%)

• Alex (33%)

• AIKO (21%)

• Bob (16%)

• Primrose (9%).

Note that with 1.0.5 and 1.0.6 being focused on an alternate/evil ending all of these character variants will be getting more content, and now is a good time to play/pop in with ideas for how to further flesh things out!

Stage 5 Evil content suggestions:

A bimbo Synthea a therapy session with the MC playing the part of the therapist.

Future Development & Communication:

Satisfaction with total content: 4.41/5 Average, .63 Standard Deviation

Interested in additional content: 4.1/5 Average, .76 Standard Deviation

Additional Content Suggestions: 

Note: a number of requests here (dating Serena, getting Bob/Daphne together, Alex dominating the MC) are things that already exist in-game, so explore (or hit up wiki/discord/DMs and ask for guidance)

• Femboy route: We appear to have a new volunteer to help with the initial tedium to make this a possibility. If anyone else would like to contribute to make this happen faster (the bottleneck is less interest/capability than a whole lot of tedious work of figuring out WHERE things need to be added that)... hit us up on discord/DMs (there will be rewards for assistance).

• Female Game Start: This could theoretically happen... but has a lot of downstream effects such that I'm a bit leery.

• PA chastity:  Theoretically possible, maybe.

• Better notification for choice -> secretary style - this is... complex in the edge conditions, possible, but has a bit of tedious "load" to implementing that I'd need to be in the right headspace to feel like tackling.

• Something you do while camgirl/streaming leading to a "consequence" at work - possibly interesting, would need to come up with specifics

• Bondage items in public - this is almost certainly a no because of the edge-case complication explosion that is handling such in arbitrary scenes (both characters reacting and things like "how does scene work if you're gagged" or can't use hands?) it's a looot of tedium/variants for not much gameplay

• Naked in public - see bondage in public, similar issues.

• Cruel scene variants - am open to writing more of these, but need to be pointed at specific scenes for candidacy.

• Male variants: see femboy route, the blocker here is a bunch of front-loaded tedium work that can be farmed out/the team has too many other priorities to prioritize in-house. If you'd like to help with this, reach out.

• More piercing tie-in content - possible, and given we just added a bunch of new piercings to the game, something we may look into prioritizing. [Remark by Deedee: Face Piercing options will be added to the game soon]

• More secretary styles/gradiation of ~stage 2 feminization - merging a couple requests together here. I'm not strictly opposed... but I really don't have ideas for what there's already 58 different Secretary Styles and I feel like I scraped the barrel a bit already.

• Audio - audio is not in the skillset of anyone on the current Dev team, and with the game's size it's a very scale problem where even if it would work really well for one passage, that presents issues of ~discontinuity with the rest of the game. As such, this is unlikely to happen.

Rewriting Older Content: 3.94/5 Average, 1.07 Standard Deviation

Older Content Rewrite Suggestions:

The only major stand-outs here were wanting more in the ~stage 2 "initial feminization" and some comments that early content can sometimes be disconnected, or have a wrong pronoun for characters that can be toggled. Both of these latter issues would be classified as "bugs" and I'll fix if they're reported specifically, but can't really track from vagueness.

Art for Older Content: 4.4/5 Average, 0.94 Standard Deviation

Development Prioritization:

The big winner here was more Secretary content (58%) followed by Future projects (30%) and Getting Secretary onto steam/itch.io (12.1%). I think this is fairly consistent with "I came here for x, more x" though I do appreciate the faith in our future/next projects!

Streaming:

• Writing Streams: 2.28/5 Average, 1.28 Standard Deviation

• Art Streams: 2.62/5 Average, 1.37 Standard Deviation

• Dev Streams: 2.44/5 Average, 1.34 Standard Deviation

While the score for streaming was overall middling, the spread was wide, with 100-200 votes of 4-5 for each streaming category... which might be enough people to be viable, so we'll do some more considering/stay tuned!

Q&A:

• Live Q&A: 2.8/5 Average, 1.36 Standard Deviation

• Async Q&A: 2.9/5 Average, 1.4 Standard Deviation

Another one with a middling (though higher) average, but a very wide spread. The slight tilt towards async I think makes sense given the geographic/timezone diversity of both the team, and the playerbase.

Unimplemented Content:

Female -> Male Toggle support: 2.29/5 Average, 1.35 Standard Deviation

Expectedly, our audience tilts more towards fem-attracted... but it appears that the desire for more Male characters is growing slightly (the previous time we asked this question the result was 2.26/5, 1.32 so a small, but noticable, shift upwards). As noted in the prompt, the biggest hurdle to this being an option is the raw tedium of tagging old content/functionalizing pronouns usage. If you would be up for assisting with this "gruntwork," please reach out to one of the dev team (there's no coding skills required, just basic English reading abilities). Contributions here will be rewarded in the form of our great appreciation... and custom scenes added to the game.

Genital toggles for NPCs: 2.74/5 Average, 1.31 Standard Deviation

Slightly more popular for this one... and results that are actually DOWN from the previous survey (2.8/5, 1.31). Structurally this is a significant overlap with the M->F toggle above so, similarly... reach out if you'd like to help make this possible.

Retain Masculinity: 3.37/5 Average, 1.33 Standard Deviation

Another slight retreat from previous (3.43/5, 1.26). Wider implementation of this ties in with the above, but if there are specific scenes that could see enhancement, feel free to report and we will investigate.

HD Remake: 2.8/5 Average, 1.41 Standard Deviation

Huge, centred range on this one, consistent with prior results (2.8, 1.38). Given the vast effort this would involve in remains unlikely (baring some sudden mass increase in funding towards that end). Though it's interseeting to see just how "consistent" this desire remains over time.

Better Achievement Support: 2.78/5 Average, 1.22 Standard Deviation

Results here are right in line with prior survey (2.74/5, 1.25), will remain in the "probably will happen, but not major priority" bucket.

Anthropomorphic Cat Pet: 2.6/5 Average, 1.41 Standard Deviation

Anthropomorphic Dog Pet: 2.42/5 Average, 1.38 Standard Deviation

Both of these options remain fairly middling in popularity, though marginally up from previous survey (2.51/5, 1.36 and 2.35/5, 1.34 on prior survey). At present, unlikely to be prioritized over other work.

Additional Avatar Options: 3.41/5 Average, 1.21 Standard Deviation

This one remains on our radar, and we have been making steady (if possibly slow) updates internally to make it easier. Will happen, but not immediate ETA due to the requisite art load involved. Slightly up from previous (3.31/5, 1.22)

[Remark by Deedee: Once we switch 100% to the Canvas Avatar Rendering Engine, more "custom color" option will become available starting most likely with Skin-tones, Nail and eye-colors, maybe a 2ndary hair-tone for more customization]

More Warp Options: 2.86 Average, 1.28 Standard Deviation

Midling score, and slightly down from previous survey (2.93/5, 1.33), which I like, because the warp system is very tedious to work with so not having a mandate to do so lets me continue to prioritize more pleasnt-to-work-on things.

"Sissy" Fetish Flag Granularity: 2.86 Average, 1.32 Standard Deviation

Another fairly middling result... but the implementation is much more grepable, so slightly higher odds of happening (+ could be outsourced more easily if someone has a burning desire to help/assist). This question was not previously asked, so no comparables.

Additional Fetish Flags:

"Foot" fetish remains as having an interest in opting out with 158 votes in favor (so 21% of survey responses). The other high scorer was better genital synonym control at 17%. The priority twiddled slightly, but they remained "frontruners" from the prior survey (19% foot, 20% synonyms).

Full Results:

Foot fetish flag: 21% (up from 19%) - somewhat tricky given its role in several key scenes... but we will discuss some more.

Genital synonym granularity: 17% (down from 20%) - probable. Requires some back-end reworking to avoid major hit to memory usage, but it's a rework that we've been discussing for other reasons, as well.

Sex with men: 12% (steady from 12%) - unlikely, given the existance of the gender-toggle options

Latex: 11% (up from 9.1%) - would be very difficult, so is unlikely

Word "bimbo": 5.4% (no prior data) - might happen, as it's mostly a greppable task. Reach out if you'd be interested in helping.

Sex with women: 5% (up from 4.7%) - not popular, and would be massively difficult/would prefer to "solve" via gender-toggle option

Word "slave": 4.8% (down from 5.8%) - might happen, as it's mostly a greppable task. Reach out if you'd be interested in helping.

A handful of "One More Scene?" suggestions that caught my eye/may appear in future polls

Request for changes to the MC image (visible abs, larger hips, etc.) - due to the size of the game's wardrobe (and also how its implemented/pixel art constraints) this has an ENORMOUS art lift such that it just isn't justifiable to devote the effort that would be required.

Antagonistic encounter with someone from your past confronting you about your changes

Punishment event if you surgically enlarge yourself after shrinking

Sequel to the jaywalking scene

Evil Blake the even more adorable submissive (I don't know what I'd do with it... but the concept is certainly amusing)

Alex to be willing to try a greater variety of drugs with you

DAP scene (I'm pretty sure this means double anal penetration, but I'm not 100%, there's a couple of these, but sure, we can have another)

"This is a really wanky answer, but Ms. Antler's response when you tell her, upon her visiting your home, that you hate what she's done to you. You really capture her suddenly realizing just how genuinely evil her actions have been, the sudden turn into regret and self-loathing. I'd love to see more explorations of her needing to confront the moral repugnancy of her actions."

[Remark by Deedee: You cannot bring logic to an universe based upon adult/porn logic. Well, okay you can, but things start to become serious and deranged quite fast. Would be an interesting idea for a 4th wall breaking RPG Maker Horror game though]
