Outside the normal range of events Poll I: Whether 'tis Nobler to Finish or DLC:

by Sashka

With 0.9.3 in pre-release testing and approaching 2.5 million words we are getting closer and closer to having finished what was planned for Secretary, (original vision + half a decade of scope-creep/expansion). The final "work" quest and game's endings are written to go out as 1.0.0, but there's a bit more side/optional content both written and planned than would "fit" in 0.9.3 + 1.0.0.

This means that we need to have an additional release, the question for you, our backers is: do we do that release as 0.9.4 (i.e.: before releasing the final quest + endings) OR do we go from 0.9.3 to 1.0.0 and then release a subsequent 1.1.0 that contains the aforementioned miscellaneous stuff?

As a final note, while Secretary is nearing its finale, we have already begun discussion as to the next product from DD enterprises (Not the official name of the Company because Austrian Laws are strange)... so stay tuned!

Slight Afterthought by Deedee:

Well, this has been, and still is a rollercoaster of ... things. Originally I planned 3 Paths and around 4 chapters, around 60 Characters less(I am talking about named NPC's here, not written words, that would have been around 1.5 million words less) and Bob was OFF LIMITS (As he was planned to be Dateable if you finish the game in a certain way, because changing your genitals was also not planned for the original version :D). Well, things changed, and the End is near. How near you ask? Well, that's for you to decide!

Being an agile developer, I strongly believe in ship first and iterate later. If you have reached your minimum viable goals, then it deserves the 1.0! Also, working on and having a side of DLC for your first major project will help to keep things fresh when you go onto the new one.

I love Secretary. It's such a wonderful world. But I would love to see what new and exciting ideas await!
