I like that the Hypoboreans learning how the Imperium, especially the Mechanicum, abhor AI so much that even automation isn't present in their ships. Automation doesn't require even AI to function and yet the Imperium is willing to use manual labor to maintain their ships. A sign that the worst of 40k is already present even in the Imperium of 30k. Would Jadan be more horrified if she learns that the Imperium uses slave labor to even reload their macro cannons? Or even servitors?
