New Fic Idea (It Came to Me in a Dream)
Added 2024-07-18 00:53:20 +0000 UTCWhat if we take Homelander (a version that's sort of a combination between comics and TV Show) and shove him into 40k. The catch is that his powers are gone for the first few chapters and he has to learn how to live like a normal human for a while. Redemption story, kind of like The Shattering, but more character focused, instead of grand battles and shit (There will still be plenty of those, of course, since this is 40k). The title is, "The Hero I Could've Been". What ya'll think?

A SI homelander would be interesting. Maybe he could become what superman was?

2024-07-24 07:29:48 +0000 UTCI think a gradually regaining of his powers would be interesting.

2024-07-18 20:32:38 +0000 UTCA grimderp universe like W40K is hardly the place for a redemption story, least of all someone with Homelander's catastrophic personality faults. It is doubtful he'd be able to regain enough humanity, before he gets inevitably subverted and corrupted by any of the cosmic horrors lurking in that universe.

2024-07-18 02:51:46 +0000 UTCSounds good. There’s a couple weapons I can think of that could actually hurt him even at full power even before you get to the hectic Psykers powers.

2024-07-18 02:46:55 +0000 UTCI honestly don’t know Homelanders physiology but my best guess is that it would be some weaker version of a Viltrumite but instead of growing stronger with both aging and training/combat. It would just be the combat. As for the limits of the strength? Unknown. Compound V’s limits arnt really explored, so there’s some freedom for the author there

2024-07-18 02:38:06 +0000 UTCQuestion how strong could Homelander be if he trained. In the comic's and TV show he never pushed him self but someone with the knowledge of what kind of universe is going to know he is going to need to be stronger than Homelander in the comic's.

2024-07-18 02:34:40 +0000 UTCI like the identity crisis Homelander would have. He IS his powers, without them, without fame, without being recognized and worshiped and fawned over whenever he made a public appearance would shatter his ego. Love the idea.

2024-07-18 02:23:19 +0000 UTCIf you want to do a redemption story, I’m all for it but I would personally prefer an SI with the Homelander powers/body. This is because your 40k stories all already have characters who have no idea about the wider universe and just how fucked it really is. An SI would be a nice change of pace and I’m honestly just looking forward to seeing how you would write out and balance the meta knowledge they have. Either way, OP character stories are always fun. Granted, Homelander won’t even reach the top 50% of powerful beings even at full strength and it would be fun to see how you would work around that as well

2024-07-18 02:14:53 +0000 UTCBecause only a SI or OC insert truly understands how screwed he is.

2024-07-18 01:23:42 +0000 UTCInteresting idea. But why an SI?

2024-07-18 01:19:31 +0000 UTCI would prefer SI with homelander powers in 40k. If I had any talent has a writer that's what I would do.
