"Intimate" - book preview

Buon pomeriggio,

Lo ammetto, ho procrastinato fino ad oggi per fare questo post! Però sono stata super impegnata (che novità) e lo spazio per scrivere è ormai diventato pochissimo e il mio cervello lavora un po' a rilento con tutti questi pensieri e cose da fare.

Comunque, veniamo a noi! Vi avevo annunciato che io e Roberto Mannini stiamo lavorando ad un progetto insieme, un libro che abbiamo chiamato "intimate" (e giuro che non l'ho scelto io, e non è relazionato al tier più alto del mio Patreon ahah).

Questo libro diventerà una raccolta di immagini e pochi scritti che andranno a raccontare delle emozioni vere. Nessuna interpretazione, posa o performance, solo la mia libera espressione, vista e raccontata da uno dei fotografi che più mi ha letto nel profondo!

Com'è nato il progetto:

Io e Roberto ci siamo conosciuti proprio un anno fa, quando abbiamo scattato a Firenze per la prima volta. Si è creata subito una connessione pazzesca, e da soltanto la prima collaborazione sono venuti fuori dei lavori fantastici (che avete potuto vedere anche qua!). Da lì mi chiese di partecipare ad uno dei suoi progetti in esterna da portare in esposizione, così dopo ben 8 mesi abbiamo scattato la seconda volta per il progetto "Alive" a Matera (di cui vi ho parlato a fine del mese scorso, che è stato esposto a Copenhagen). Siamo stati per la prima volta insieme 3 giorni e si è creata una grande amicizia e affinitià creativa. Tant'è che oltre a scattare le foto in esterna, abbiamo scattato diverse foto anche nell'albergo, senza pianificare niente, mi ha semplicemente lasciata libera di esprimere quel che sentivo in quel momento e utilizzare la stanza come un palcoscenico, e la luce come un vestito o una carezza sulla mia pelle. E' venuto fuori un lavoro magnifico, intenso, intimo e carico di emozione. Abbiamo creato una sinergia tale, che abbiamo deciso di ripetere in locations diverse per poi dare vita ad un libro completo!

Ho lavorato con centinaia di persone, e un affinità come con Roberto è capitata rare volte, e quando succede non c'è niente di più bello e liberatorio, di raccontare con sguardi e movimenti, quel che si cela sotto la pelle e dentro le ossa.

La foto che vedete fa parte di una serie che abbiamo scattato in montagna in toscana, una delle tante meravigliose immagini che abbiamo creato quel giorno!

Spero di avervi messo un po' di curiosità, manca ancora almeno un altro set da fare, che probabilmente non faremo prima di Novembre o l'anno prossimo, vi terrò aggiornati sull'andamento!

Good afternoon,

I admit, I have procrastinated until today to make this post! But I have been super busy (such a new thing!) and the space to write is now very little and my brain works a bit slow with all these thoughts and things to do.

Anyway! I announced that Roberto Mannini and I are working on a project together, a book we called "intimate" (and I swear I didn't choose it, and it's not related to the higher tier of my Patreon haha).

This book will become a collection of images and a few writings that will tell about real emotions. No interpretation, pose or performance, just my feelings, seen and told by one of the photographers who read me most deeply!

How the project was born:

Roberto and I met just a year ago, when we shot in Florence for the first time. A crazy connection was created right away, and from only the first collaboration came out some fantastic works (which you could see here too!). 

From there he asked me to participate in one of his outdoor projects for an exhibition, so after 8 months we shot the second time for the "Alive" project in Matera (which I told you about at the end of last month, and that was exhibited in Copenhagen). 

We were together for the first time for 3 days and a great friendship and creative affinity was created. In fact, in addition to taking the photos outside, we took several photos in the hotel, without using the room, he simply left me free to express what I felt at that moment and to use the room as a stage, and the light like a dress or a caress on my skin. 

It turned out a magnificent, intense, intimate and emotional work. We have created such a synergy that we have decided to repeat it in different places and then give life to a complete book! I have worked with six people, and an affinity such as with Roberto has happened rare times, and when it happens there is nothing more beautiful and liberating, than to tell with looks and movements, what is hidden under the skin and inside the bones.

The photo you see is part of a series we took in the mountains in Tuscany, one of the wonderful images we created that day!

I hope I have put some curiosity in you, there is still at least one more set to do, which we probably won't do before November or next year, but I'll keep you posted!
