Alive project

Eccomi qua di nuovo!

Oggi vi ho parlato dell'esposizione alla Art Nordic di Copenhagen, e questa è una delle opere che fanno parte della serie "Alive" di Roberto Mannini.

Abbiamo scattato queste foto nel Sud Italia qualche mese fa, era pieno inverno ed è stato uno degli shooting più difficili mai fatti. Faceva davvero freddissimo (pensate che la mattina nevicava!) e c'era un vento talmente forte che si faticavo a stare in piedi.

Come avrete notato ho iniziato da poco a scattare nude art in esterna, non sono un amante del freddo, ma soprattutto della natura in generale (specie gli insetti 😅). Però scattare con professionisti come Roberto in queste ambientazioni è semplicemente un'emozione impagabile. La professionalità e attenzione alla modella, ai dettagli e velocità nel trarre ottimi risultati è qualcosa che si impara con molta dedizione a parer mio, e davvero pochi fotografi, anche professionisti, riescono a fare. Quando poi si crea una particolare connessione fotografica tra modella e fotografo la quantità di creazioni meravigliose è illimitata, ed ogni momento, anche totalmente casuale si trasforma in creatività pura! Se qualcuno di voi è fotografo, beh vi auguro vivamente di trovare le vostre muse, trovare il vostro stile, differenziarvi e non seguire la massa ma soltanto la qualità e il vostro cuore.

Ma veniamo al concept: quando Roberto mi ha chiesto di posare per questo progetto, ho accettato a condizione di creare qualcosa di innovativo rispetto alle classiche foto di nude art in natura. Abbiamo voluto trovare la giusta combinazione in cui soggetto e ambiente fossero valorizzati alla pari, senza sopravvalere l'uno sull'altro. Avrete sicuramente visto molte foto di molti artisti in cui la modella viene piazzata con pose eleganti in ambientazioni fantastiche, o modelle che riproducono alberi o rocce per entrare a far parte dell'ambiente circostante, non era quello che volevamo.

Ho chiesto a Roberto se potevo interpretare una creatura, e muovermi senza eleganza in maniera animalesca per quelle terre aride. Fatti i primi scatti il primo giorno, il progetto ha iniziato a prendere forma, e riguardando le foto abbiamo trovato una storia, da continuare il giorno seguente!

Avevo scritto in un post precedente che avrei pubblicato anche un'altra preview di un altro progetto in porto con Roberto, ma temo di non essere in tempo questo mese per mostrarvelo, ma lo farò molto presto il prossimo mese :)

Here I am again!

Today I told you about the exhibition at the Art Nordic in Copenhagen, and this is one of the works that are part of the "Alive" series by Roberto Mannini.

We took these photos in Southern Italy a few months ago, it was the middle of winter and it was one of the most difficult shootings ever done. It was really cold (just think it was snowing in the morning!) And there was such a strong wind that it was hard to stand up.

As you may have noticed, I only recently started shooting nude art outdoors, I'm not a lover of the cold, and of all of nature in general (especially insects 😅). But shooting with professionals like Roberto in these landscapes is simply a priceless emotion. The professionalism and attention to the model, to the details and speed in obtaining excellent results is something that is learned with a lot of dedication in my opinion, and very few photographers, even professionals, are able to do. When a particular photographic connection is created between model and photographer, the quantity of wonderful creations is unlimited, and every moment, even totally random, is transformed into pure creativity! If any of you is a photographer, well I sincerely wish you to find your muses, find your style, differentiate yourself and not follow the crowd but only quality and your heart.

But let's get to the concept: when Roberto asked me to pose for this project, I accepted on the condition of creating something innovative compared to the classic nude art photos in nature. We wanted to find the right combination in which the subject and the environment were valued equally, without overwhelming each other. You have surely seen many photos of many artists where the model is placed with elegant poses in fantastic locations, or models that reproduce trees or rocks to become part of the surrounding landscape, it was not what we wanted.

I asked Roberto if I could play a creature, and move without elegance in an animalistic way through those arid lands. After taking the first shots on the first day, the project began to take shape, and looking back at the photos we found a story, to continue the following day!

I wrote in a previous post that I would also publish another preview of another project in progress with Roberto, but I'm afraid I won't be in time this month to show it to you, but I will do it very soon next month :)
