Progress update - April

So close, yet so far...

Hey everyone, I’m sorry to say that I won’t have the update ready for this month. Production speed has been good, and the progress steady, but I added more CGs and might need to add more (In case I feel like the end of the scenes lacks punch), which is the cause of the delay.

What is left?

At this point, I’m so close to finishing the update that I can list the things that I’m missing.

Some of these are inflated to prevent possible inconveniences. For the final CGs of the scene, I give a margin of 3 days since they must have good quality and probably some variations. The minigame is kind of scary for me, I already have the tutorial that explains exactly what I want to do, but if it gives problems, I may have to change it to something I can code. I’m currently working on the game 5 days a week from 8 to 6, the other 2 days are for studying, so probably around May 20th.

My intention was not to mislead anyone when I said I was going to release the update this month, but adding more CGs than planned added days, and now that I know what is left to do, I can make a more accurate estimation of the release.


About animations

I’m already animating Ruri’s scene, learning to use Spine Pro wasn’t as painful as I thought it was gonna be. Rigging the scene takes time, but once that is done, subsequent animations are easier. You guys won’t notice the speed increase in this update because I’m still a little green, but you will notice it for the next one.

I'm afraid that some animations may look a bit stiff at the moment because of my inexperience, but I know that once I get a good grip on the program, I'll be able to do complex animations much faster.


Finishing thoughts

I can’t show much more right now, we are entering spoiler territory. Development Is going great, but I need a bit more time. I hope that the stuff that I did during this update positively reflects on the speed of development of the next one.

V0.4.1 has a more standard structure, with a beginning, scenes in the middle and a cliffhanger at the end, that's why I warn in the progress image that I may expand at the end of Ruri and Lena's scenes, in case I feel they lack the strength to be a proper scene.

V0.4.2 should have the format I initially planned (1 normal scene + 1 short scene) accessible in the explorable section of v0.4.1.

The reason I want to make this work is that from v0.5 onwards I want to start adding segcs scenes (composed of several animations like the one I made for Rea) for all the girls, and I would like to add them to the game one at a time that would be accessible within an explorable section... But I'm getting ahead of myself. We'll see if the format works after this update.
