You decide.
Added 2023-07-23 04:41:07 +0000 UTCYou decide. Manifesting is just you making a decision, it’s not magic, it’s not paranormal, it’s not miraculous or coincidental; it is whatever you say it is. It sounds absolutely insane without context, so allow me to elaborate on that.
It is nothing spectacular, it is literally how we operate. If you focus on something, you see more of it -> If you focus on something, you manifest it. The issue is that most people naturally tend to have a negativity bias, focus on what bothers them rather than the positive things in life; no matter how overwhelming they can be compared to the overall negativity. The human brain has a natural tendency to give weight to, and remember negative experiences or interactions more than positive ones; they stand out more. Psychologists refer to this as negativity bias. The brain loves patterns, the more negatively we think, the more automatic the process of thinking negatively becomes, and the more difficult it becomes to break out of that pattern and start thinking positively. So yes, if you focus on what you don’t want, you see what you don’t want. The beauty of manifestation is mainly the reprogramming of the mind, it improves your mental health and your life in general; you get to live your dream life and feel good about it. However, it is often overshadowed by the challenges that come with it, like the negativity bias I just mentioned; and then you end up focusing on how you “don’t have” your desires instead of having them, and knowing that you have them. When you state that you have what you want repeatedly, you stay consistent and end up naturally creating a pattern, which the brain loves to stick to! Thinking favorable thoughts not only improves your mental health but also allows you to think outside the box and see things for what they actually are while simultaneously reprogramming your mind and allowing you to focus on what you want to see; which manifests inevitably. When you start and decide that you have what you want, it makes no sense to go back on your word and say the exact opposite. You don’t see progress because you do not allow progress, you cannot affirm for five minutes just to go back to your usual pattern because that holds absolutely no weight. Dominant thoughts manifest, not random, passing thoughts and so you continue to experience whatever aligns with your dominant thoughts until you stay consistent enough (persisting by NOT going back to the old pattern) and change your thought process. You need to replace your recurring, unfavorable thoughts by what you want to see and experience through repetition. Replacing them means not entertaining them and focusing on your new, consciously formed thoughts! (Focus -> Manifest!) Whatever you strongly focus on, you see more of.
The power to shape your reality lies within your hands, and it's a decision you have to make. You have two distinct paths before you, each leading to different outcomes. One path involves embracing a positive mindset, repeatedly affirming your desires, and ultimately manifesting them into reality. The other path involves coasting through life on autopilot, allowing your innate negativity bias to govern your thoughts, assumptions, and experiences. The choice may not seem like a dilemma, but it does come with its fair share of challenges—the kind that many individuals have grappled with throughout history. It's no simple task to transform deeply ingrained beliefs, thoughts, and behavioral patterns that you've associated with your very identity over the years. Your experiences have etched these aspects into your being, making them hard to shake off easily. It's only natural that despite the seemingly straightforward nature of the process, it might still feel like a burden—a chore, even. After all, you're attempting to rewrite the script of your life, which is a culmination of years of conditioning. But take comfort in knowing that this sense of struggle is not a cause for harsh reproach. There's no intention to berate or scold you, for your brain is merely responding instinctively to this significant endeavor. Acknowledging the normalcy of this challenge allows you to approach it with compassion and patience. Remember, the decision is yours to make, and the effort you put in will gradually pave the way to your desired reality. So, take a deep breath, be gentle with yourself, and know that the journey towards reshaping your life is a process well worth undertaking.
You know what the real issue is? Most of us just have this natural tendency to focus on the stuff that bugs us instead of all the good things in life. It's like no matter how many awesome things are happening, that one annoying thing just takes center stage in our minds. So, our brains love patterns, right? And the more we lean into negative thinking, the more it becomes this automatic habit that's tough to shake. It's like we're stuck in this loop of negativity, and breaking out of it feels like trying to get out of quicksand. What's even crazier is how our brains cling to those negative experiences. They get imprinted in there like a tattoo, while the positive stuff just vanishes like it was never there.
But here's the good news - our brains are actually pretty flexible. They can change and adapt. So, if we really want to ditch that negative mindset, we've got to put in some conscious effort and train our brains to focus on the positive Now, I won't lie, it's not gonna be a walk in the park. It's gonna take willpower and dedication. But the cool thing is, it's possible. And it starts with being kind to ourselves and realizing that we're all dealing with this stuff. It's totally normal. Our brains have been wired to give more weight to negative experiences and emotions, as these had a more significant impact on their survival than positive ones. Consequently, this bias has persisted over generations, shaping our cognitive processes and influencing our daily lives. Again, I’m repeating all of this countless times so you understand that you just cannot blame yourself. A negativity bias can wreak havoc on our journey, again, this is why it feels like a chore and that is normal. It hijacks our thoughts, leading us to fixate on the absence of our desires rather than celebrating their potential fulfillment. The momentous impact of negativity on our mental landscape often overshadows the positive aspects of our lives, causing us to perceive a lack, even when surrounded by the opposite.
To counter this cognitive quirk, repetition becomes our ally. Consistently affirming our possession of what we truly desire creates a mental pattern, a neural pathway, that gains strength and familiarity with each repetition. Our brains are hardwired to seek out and adhere to patterns, and when we embrace positive thoughts repeatedly, our minds latch onto this newfound optimism, making it a more prominent aspect of our overall mindset!
It is easy to blame yourself when you don’t even know what you could be doing wrong, and so you end up focusing on the “how”, forgetting about desires you claim to have/own/experience. It is not about having the perfect playlist, having the perfect affirmations, having the perfect routine or affirming 10000 times a day; it is about making a decision and sticking to it no matter what.
