THE SCIENCE AND PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND MANIFESTATION
Added 2023-03-18 23:58:23 +0000 UTCConsciously manifesting is empirically supported and backed by scientific evidence. As humans, we need solid evidence, an undeniable explanation when it comes to “foreign“ concepts.
The mind instinctively rejects whatever feels foreign to it, it seeks consistency. You have been consistently thinking directly against what manifesting your desires with the law of assumption stands for; we whine, we complain, we spiral, rinse and repeat. This is your mind’s usual script, just a bunch of thoughts you would label as negative, intrusive, random, and rarely positive. This is quite normal, this is why we consciously choose to overstimulate ourselves; the scariest thing for most would be to stay and sit with our own thoughts, why? Because they always seem to be negative, it’s a build up you just keep pushing away, no one wants to face themselves.
Now you must be wondering, what is the correlation between this and consciously manifesting? This brings us back to what I just said to you about your mind seeking consistency. Whenever you sit with your own thoughts, you often end up spiraling or just give up after a certain amount of time out of complete boredom; your mind seeks external stimuli whenever you look inwards. That being said, your mind has been consistent in a way, recycling the same negative train of thoughts because they’re the first to come up whenever you sit with yourself; it is the cause of a build up, I briefly mentioned this earlier. It goes like this, -> Sit with your thoughts -> Negative thoughts just come up first -> You spiral -> You seek external stimuli to distract yourself -> Rinse and repeat. The tricky thing is that, when you let go of that distraction, your mind just goes to its usual script; negative thinking. The mind sides with whatever is consistent, if you’re been consistent with a negativity bias, that’s what your mind sits with, follows and accepts as factual even when it is completely distorted from reality.
When you discover consciously manifesting, you realize you just need to change your thoughts! It sounds so easy, it’s actually the easiest thing ever, right?! Well, some would beg to differ. I am here to let you know that it is completely normal for you to find this challenging. I’ve repeated myself here, but we all know the mind sides with consistency, and so when you try to change and alter its usual script, it’s only natural for it to reject it instinctively; and so you waver. We can dive into your minds “usual” script and what factors are at play, but that would involve your environment, your upbringing, your personality, your instinctive approach and reaction to things, what you identify as/with; moral of the story, you are not to blame for what your mind fights to stay consistent in simply because you are a product of your environment. When you affirm/think as if, it is all new, in most cases it is even the opposite of what you’ve been thinking all along, and so you find yourself instinctively rejecting your affirmations, “There’s no way this is working! I have been trying for so long, this is a waste of time! I’m not seeing any movement at all! I need to work hard in order to get what I want.” which is a bit silly because affirming in general is just positive thinking, and you’re not used to that; it is completely harmless to form positive thoughts but it goes against your mind’s usual train of thought, your mind likes to be dramatic about it and so you end up seeking external confirmatory stimuli to back up your original assumptions, which by the law causes you to experience more of what you’ve been consistent in, the old story.
This is where I could bring up trusting in the unseen, if you knew you had your desires, would you be thinking about how much time it is taking for you to see movement? Of course not, it has manifested already! Would you be thinking about how you just cannot see results? You just affirmed that you got results, why are you randomly going back to the old story? Well, that is because your mind seeks consistency, and so it is natural for you to give in simply because it makes more sense to do so. Going back to the old story and giving in also implies no chances of failure, because you instinctively make failure an option when in reality you are in control of not only the process, but also the outcome. Lots of repetition, but I need to get this through your skull; you are not incapable, there is no such thing. You cannot be incapable, you are not the oddball who just cannot manifest.
This is science, and some of you might be shaking your fist at the sky in absolute denial simply because your mind is trying to stick with its negativity bias; but the real reason why we have empirical evidence, scientific discoveries and statistics is to break through that bubble. If we bring two people with completely different beliefs based on personal experiences, upbringings and more and they end up in a silly disagreement, empirical evidence is there to break through that back and forth mindless exchange. Of course you’re not gonna give up on your beliefs simply because one, two, three, people disagree with what you’re saying; it is a belief, which is why we have scientific knowledge and evidence to help separate personal biases and actual facts.
Let me give you an example, let’s say you have a history of getting attacked by golden retrievers only, but pit bulls have been nothing but cuddly and affectionate towards you, you somehow end up telling that to someone who absolutely loves golden retrievers and has never had a bad experience with them but has been bitten by a pit bull in the past; you two would completely disagree. It would just be a never ending, “No that’s not true!” “They literally attack me every time!” “A pit bull literally bit me, what are you talking about?” Both parties strongly believe in their own statements because they fully identify with them, someone who hates golden retrievers but loves pit bulls, and someone who loves golden retrievers but hates pit bulls. Both sentiments are backed by personal, sometimes recurring experiences that apply to them personally, and so it completely clouds their judgments.
Who is correct?
Well, science does not appear to support that Pit bulls are inherently dangerous, but Pit bulls are statistically incredibly dangerous compared to other dogs. Seventy Golden Retrievers were tested in the temperament test. Levels of escalation in aggressive behavior were scored. A total of 98.57% of the dogs reacted appropriately, and just a little over 1% displayed some aggressive behavior. Does that make anyone's experiences any less real or valid? No it doesn’t, but there is no such thing as right or wrong when personal experiences dictate certain beliefs, unless you resort to empirical evidence. The reason why it is important is because if it is not considered, the debate would never end. You cannot claim all golden retrievers are out to get you and that they’re inherently dangerous without someone disagreeing with you and you cannot claim that all pit bulls are killing machines and just bite people left, right and center without a pit bull lover disagreeing with you. Statistics are here to burst our bubbles, and this is how we eventually put clouded judgements aside and come to agreements.
We can directly link this phenomenon to something a bit more familiar, some people practice the law of attraction, detachment, and whatever else. In all communities, there are hundreds of success stories; yet some claim that their way is the right and only way! “You need to detach!” “You need to love yourself first!” “You need to affirm at least 10K times!” and the list goes on, it’s never ending. The reason why this supports what I have been trying to get across is because all the communities I mentioned share one thing in common; they all got results, and they all think their personal experiences are the key to manifestation in a way, like they were the one to crack the code. It’s a bit silly, doesn’t it remind you of the goofy dog debate I just talked about? All of their claims are supported by their own experience, and so their beliefs have completely solidified; that is, because they have seen their results unfold. The tricky thing is that all of them got results, so who has the key to manifestation? Well, we all do. We all do by default, that’s what scientific evidence claims; it supports the law of assumption, whatever you accept as true, is true. You can do a hundred backflips and it’s always gonna be the same conclusion, the law of assumption always applies.
Now, you must be wondering why I brought that up, this is directly linked to consciously manifesting, believe it or not. It is a concept empirically supported, it is pure science. Someone raising their fist in the air and disagreeing with the possibility of consciously manifesting simply because they have not been able to do it is something we see every single day, and what is that statement? Clouded by their own judgement and personal experiences, they can disagree without end, people will tell them that it is possible, that they can do it and even maybe share their own success stories with the aim to encourage them, which will fall on deaf ears because their belief will not bulge for you. Their personal experiences outweigh your efforts.
So what do we do to solve this silly little issue? We resort to science! Something both parties cannot deny or try to alter to fit their own narrative, consciously manifesting is a phenomenon supported by science. It is how the brain operates, the thing is that it is very surface level science as well; nothing complex. It goes like this Focus -> Reticular activating system -> Subconscious -> 3D/real life experience. I really summed it up here simply because this is something I will be elaborating on in another article! The main purpose of this lengthy article is to help you understand what happens up there and why it’s nothing you cannot dodge, dismiss or move past. Everyone is manifesting, you think human nature does not apply to you? What? We could argue that consciously manifesting goes beyond science, but that’s the very nature of it, it is limitless and it does not bend or alter for anything. Hence why we say the law of assumption, it is a law.
I hope you enjoyed this article, hopefully it was eye opening and helpful for most! Thank you for reading its entirety, next week we'll be fully diving into the Law of assumption and its direct link to science.
