The only thing I hated in this episode is that they act like Ryo was the aggressor; he was fully within his rights to attack and kill Oscar, mf'er attacked his friends without any attempts to talk, if he had at least asked who they were or some shit I'd get it but he just started with trying to kill them. Ryo wasn't starting shit, he was ending a situation he saw.

2025-09-28 06:48:52 +0000 UTCConsidering how mad he was at the guy. He probably didn't want it to end to quickly, and probably wanted to at least blow off more at him. Resulting in Ryo likely just playing with the guy. As the way he was talking to the guy, it seems like even the famed Inferno Magician isn't that much of a challenge to him.

2025-09-27 21:22:44 +0000 UTCI didn't think the anime was amazing, but it was at least paced well with the LN and for better or worse was accurate to the source. The worst thing is when they are worried about not getting a second season, so they cram too much into the first. I also understand it must be difficult to adapt because the story is a weird combo of occasional op fantasy but also a casual slice of life. Even reading it I enjoyed the casual learning and traveling Ryo does while also hoping for him to finally do something crazy similarly to the fight with Oscar. This finally kind of sums up the pacing of the story as a whole. Still hoping for a season 2 with all that said because mid isekais are top tier.

2025-09-26 23:35:03 +0000 UTCMan, the writing in this show is rough to say the least. We saw Ryo use water jet from behind enemies when he killed the devils so why did he not do that when he wanted to kill this guy. What a massive disappointment from that initial first episode.
