2025-09-17 10:52:22 +0000 UTCBecause human (even fictional) psychology isn't actually well represented by misunderstood, faulty and outdated wolf wildlife studies. :P Jokes aside, I think it probably is because he is written to be comfortable with immature expressions of his own childishness, teasing and overstepping boundaries with those younger than him. With people his age, the sincerity of relationships and such gets into his head, all the insecurities of self-worth and commitment and so on paralyze him from having a healthy perspective of building a future out of the relationship. From pretty early on this is one of the main themes of Monogatari Series. It depicts loli, but doesn't exactly condone Araragi's actions during the scenes that get memed, if anything it implicitly condemns them, but mostly through subtext. Like, he does something bad, it's shown in an uncomfortably "service"-y way, he gets chewed out in a way that is played for laughs, but the underlying message over time is that it is overall a metaphor for his immaturity and is foiled by the way he is depicted when he is genuinely acting as a sincere and good person. Anyway, that was always my understanding, art is open to interpretations.

2025-09-12 14:51:10 +0000 UTCIt's kinda insane that the whole gym room interaction between Araragi and Hanekawa went on for over half an hour and yet it was still so gripping and entertaining. In general, the writing is so masterful done, balancing dramatic and comedic elements really well. It's also so rare to see such amazingly detailed character animation, every emotion was extremely heightend and intense.
