There is a perfectly fair reason to not tell people about the Akuma. Assuming that they even know what it is, which isn't likely seeing as Leonore said she should have killed him for being aware of their existence, They are far too weak to do anything. It would be like telling people who live in New York that there is a nuclear bomb that randomly hits cities for funsies and it is both undetectable and untraceable. You would accomplish nothing and cause mass hysteria. On the flip side of this they likely don't know which means you now need to inform them of a threat that seems to want to exterminate anyone who knows of their existence and is so unbelievably more powerful that you can't do anything. Same outcome, nothing is accomplished and you just push everyone into hysteria.

2025-08-23 22:08:53 +0000 UTCThere is some justification for not mentioning the Akuma. As earlier on in the series, when he was traveling to the city with Abel. He had asked Abel if he knew anything about Akumas, and Abel's response made him believe that nobody actually knows what an Akuma is. So bringing up that he fought an Akuma during the eclipse would not only bring him trouble, people might badger him about asking what an Akuma is, or question/harass him in accusing him of just trying to get recognition.

2025-08-22 19:21:42 +0000 UTCI think the only reason doesn’t want to tell anyone about the akuma is literally just because he doesn’t want to be bothered with it. He doesn’t want the attention and the commotion that comes with it. Edit: Ok, so 30 seconds later you said a similar thing. Ryo did say that all he wanted was a slow peaceful life in the beginning which is why the god put him in the middle of nowhere.

2025-08-22 08:45:49 +0000 UTCIn the WN it's clear that someone stumbled into the gate, so it was an accident. Also I think in the WN during the talk with Leonora it became more or less clear to Ryo that the knowledge of Akumas is dangerous. Not really clear on that one.
