Personally, I don't understand what you're complaining about here. The anime follows the light novel pretty accurately. In the LN, the moment Beryl receives the sword is before the start of the mission, just like in the anime. Of course, the anime leaves out a few details and picks up the pace a bit, but that's completely normal and even necessary in an anime adaptation of a light novel. I have no idea what kind of manga you want to have read, but if this manga doesn't even follow the source material, you can't expect the anime to match the manga either. The anime follows the LN and it does it pretty well.

2025-05-12 08:33:08 +0000 UTCThis was far different from how it was in the Manga; Firstly, each of his students got a worthwhile fight, that showed just how skilled they each are. And Beryl's fight was against a guy that had a similar skill set to himself. Second, is that they were chasing after the bishop, not only to capture him, but also to rescue Mewl that had infiltrated the church to get the incriminating evidence, but wound up getting captured in the process. Finally, the sword wasn't given to Beryl until mid way through chasing after the carriage with the bishop and Mewl in it. Personally, it feels like they rushed this event.
