They heavily gloss over it here but wouldn’t everyone who worked in the Garnet palace be executed since even if they didn’t know about the overall plan they had be impersonating a high ranking concubine and also knew and let her sneak out of the palace? Like that’s grounds for mass execution it’s been a while since I’ve read this novel so maybe they explain it but I thought it’s weird they gloss over it in the episode.

2025-07-05 21:24:03 +0000 UTCsuirei is related to the late emperor. in the emperor dowager episode with the late emperor painting, it is mentioned how he diddled a lady in waiting (taihou) and got her pregnant. the pregnancy was however framed on a court doctor. so in this episode the allusion is that suirei is taihou's and the late emperor's daughter. but she is too young for that, which is the actual timeline confusion. this will be resolved in later episodes

As the manga portrays the people that are banning together, are simply subordinates to their lord and his power hungry wife, who I think we will see when we next join Maomao for a longer portion of time. We didn't see how some of the people were victimized in one form or another by the pathetic Pedophile Emperor, and how their wildly directing their anger at everything related to the Rear Palace since his passing. Not to mention seeing Lakan a bit more, as we don't see him until he confronts Jingshi to do something about the people planning to go to war with the current Emperor, as the Emperor's brother.

She explains that it was yet another little girl who was approached by the empowerment but this one got pregnant. So the palace covered it up by blaming the doctor for the pregnancy, then they made sure the next doctor who served would be a eunich. Looking at the timeline, the mother of the baby would have had to be a young girl, and if that young girl just died last year as an old baba, the baby can't be suiren directly, likely there is more to the story.
