Assuming these are clones, it seems to me that Hebinuma is not actually in control of the what is causing these clones(?) to appear, but he is somehow aware of the mechanism behind it. Both Bottom and Hebinuma seemed genuinely a bit surprised to see her, as if they knew clones appear but didn't know there was one of her. Perhaps they don't control what is going on but are one of few people who understand it well enough to take advantage of it for their own goals. Also it seems to me that Xiaohei has some resistance towards leaving Kowloon hardwired into her subconscious. Possibly that is done for all clones? A simple clone theory does not however explain the thing in the sky, why it wasn't in the sky in Kudou's memories, and why we saw a flash of a rundown version of the cafe. That would indicate there being two worlds or timelines in some way, which simulation theory could still explain. Also if this was the same world/timeline, the manager would also know of Kujirai disappearing and/or coming back without remembering the past. Bottom said the Kujirai he knew "no longer exists in this world". Either that's just a dramatic way to phrase it, or it implies the existence of multiple worlds somehow. He also talked as if he was the one who interacted with original Kujirai in the cafe, perhaps implying that unlike Kujirai, Gwen and Bottom actually share some memories. Another thing that puzzles me is why did Bottom start looking for Gwen now, as if he knew Gwen had tattled. But I didn't notice Kujirai mentioning what Gwen had said to anyone other than Yaomei. An earlier thought I had but discarded because of physical differences in the body was that the process of backing up your memories doesn't copy the memories, but removes them from the original. That would have been the cause for her amnesia. It would also have explained why Kudou hated the thing in the sky because from his perspective, it stole what they had together.
