The first episode was definitely forgettable but the second episode really helped move the show along but it for sure feels like a speed run

2025-01-07 23:52:05 +0000 UTCFrom watching the first two episodes, it seems like they are speedrunning to the kingdom building in the second half of volume 1 since the first half was very boring since it’s mostly introductions to the characters and the world.

2025-01-07 20:17:42 +0000 UTCI’d definitely recommend checking out the second episode before deciding whether or not to stick with this, as the story picks up a good deal there. It’s understandable why they decided to release both at once, because from the first one alone I wouldn’t have had much interest in continuing this.

2025-01-07 20:08:11 +0000 UTCIt's so generic it's nearly the exact same show as "I'm the 8th Son, are you kidding me!?" same family dynamic, supportive older brother, super jelly head older brother, salaryman reincarnates in the middle of his meal to find himself in the middle of a lavish party, gets scolded, and learns he's nobility but a poor noble so don't expect any real inheritance. Discovers he has a rare propensity for magic, while out in the country train3ing he runs into a cracked magician who teaches him all sorts of things without any homoerotic undertone... of course.... he gains a rare special item from the teacher that uniquely identifies itself as the teacher's item. Years earlier a large army was sent to deal with a monster on the family lands, but that expedition failed miserably. After some more practice and time skips the guy finds a way to support himself outside of his crumbling family. Oh, even the supportive older brother ends up marrying into a different noble family. All this happens in the first episode too. I wonder if this was done by the same LN author.
