Basically Laura's whole main goal for getting involved in this issue wasn't to save Orsola or prevent the Book of the Law from being decrypted because it was all a lie. Laura knew all this as Styl mentioned in that last scene. It was all a ploy just to get their hands on the Amakusa Church and put them under their protection, as a means to control Kanzaki. With the always possible threat of Kanzaki running wild, going rogue and even turning against them.. this was an opportunity to gain another leverage to wave in front of Kanzaki's face to ensure she does not turn against them. Basically a "we have your amakusa friends under our protection, remember that. Do not do anything stupid to turn against us as our protection over them can just as easily be removed and they could be killed." Laura definitely is quite a fascinating character with the political plays.
