The real life version of the computer, IBM5100, came in a version that had a switch to switch between two programming languages. One was BASIC, the common language for home computers, and the other was APL, a language mainly only seen on mainframes at the time. Aside from that, it could also be switched into a mode that allowed programming directly into its RAM memory using hexadecimal code representations of the assembly language it ran.
