Afaik King Arthur is a legendary figure in irl history, during the so called dark ages after the fall of the western roman empire, around the 6th to 7th century. A lot of chaos and conflict and power struggles were occurring in Britain during that time period. Lots of information is missing about the specifics in that time so it's kind of unknown if King Arthur was a real person or not.

One of the main arguments in the Banquet of Kings is that Artoria is a selfless and idealistic beacon of hope and chivalry while Iskandar is a self-serving and ambitious icon that beckons the men full of dreams to follow behind his conquest, but these all serve the same purpose of becoming a king. Both are perceived as righteous in their own era, yet they have massive flaws which led to both their kingdoms' downfall, so no one is truly right or wrong in what makes a rightful kinghood. What they do have is differing opinions over that ideal Artoria should have been able to rebuke Iskandar's rejection of her kinghood with a proper comeback, but she had Camlann PTSD (king Arthur final battle) suddenly flashing in her mind, so she was never able to speak what was really in her mind
