2024-08-11 19:11:11 +0000 UTCProblem is - in 99% of my interactions with SAO haters, be that comments or actual video reviews to trash on it - most of the things they hate about season 1 are made up. Largely by YTers. Yes, there are confusing moments in SAO that aren't easy to pick up on the first watch, but it's just on ridiculous scale at this point. Doesn't help when people repeat same things after not touching the series in 10 years and being convinced they know it all. Abridged made it worse too. I had a hilarious interaction once, when a person shared an article made to trash on SAO, and it stated that Asuna was the one to kill Kuradeel in S1... which is what happened in Abridged, not original xD

2024-08-11 13:51:03 +0000 UTCSad that most people dropped SAO before this season even started, that's why I dislike the hate. Yes it's not always peak but the build-up to this is incredible. As you mentioned it only gets better. Stay tuned in the next episode of Kirito's fried fluctlight Z!

2024-08-11 12:45:32 +0000 UTCI think most people who call SAO trash have never seen Alicization. These comments are quite old and date back to when season 1 and 2 came out. Many were not convinced by the ALO arc and the content of season 2, which is why they dropped the series. This may not apply to everybody, but every SAO critic I know dropped the show in season 1 or 2 without knowing how good the later seasons were in comparison.

2024-08-11 08:50:11 +0000 UTCQuinella and Chudelking went out with a Bang xD ... Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if Alicization as a whole (s3+4) would be author's Magnum Opus. I'm yet to read the latest books, or his Accel World series beyond the first volumes, but still. SAO had a very unique position up to ~end of anime so far, because all of it was written prior to books being picked up by publisher. So author had the ability to re-edit and even rewrite a lot of it as LNs. Anything going forward in SAO - would never have this privilege. And even the opposite - some of the works of other authors in games or anime, has pushed him to try and re-adjust the books to include new characters into canon. His other book series are far too far from having some bigger arcs finished, so they are under question for now. But even if that's the best of SAO we'll get, I guess I'm fine with that. Author at least proven to make very entertaining things even when he doesn't hit as high as consistently.
