People had to discover them first probably by chance, then - through experiments, which is why we have all these new names for them. Additionally - when Kirito just got his new sword, he mentioned that the higher combo you wish to do, the better quality weapon you need.

2024-08-01 15:52:08 +0000 UTCThe Spinning Shield sword skill is actually something Kirito used before, in the moment that we should've seen but animators cut cost on that moment - back in season 1, when he and Liz went after dragon's crystals to make a new sword. When dragon used a breath attack, in the book Kirito shielded himself this way, but in anime we only see his sword glow and make one move before everything is covered by snow from view. The way Eugeo used his sword is similar to how Kirito made his sword grow before - it's a step lower than Enhanced or Recollection - just a small manifestation of sword's memory caused by mind state of the wielder

This means that Deusolbert has used the first stage of his perfect weapon control art, but neither Eugeo nor Kirito have used it yet. What Eugeo did was to increase his power through self-confidence by thinking of his Blue Rose Sword, similar to what Volo Levantein did in the fight against Kirito.
