Asuna was pretty unhappy with her life before sao, i mean look at her parents. all she knew was school with the goal with getting a good career. the first thing she thought of when she got stuck, wasnt "how will i survive", it was "i need to do my math homework". later all shhe did was trying to clear the game, leading the assault team, she only took 2h of sleep because that was the minim to funtion. until she saw kirito laying under the tree enjoying himself. he taught her how to live and enjoy life. like she said "living together with kirito in our house on floor 22, was the first time ive ever felt at home"
