LOCAL SPARROW
With summer in full swing, I tend to get a bit wistful for simpler days, including the friendships I’ve made throughout my career. Over the past 17 years or so I’ve been incredibly fortunate to collaborate with hundreds of talented, beautiful people, many of whom became dear friends. One in particular has stood out in my mind lately, the fabulous Tess, otherwise known as Local Sparrow.
Tess became well known via the website Suicide Girls, where she modeled off and on for years. She’s known for rocking the kind of purple hair I always wanted as a kid. I loved the various incarnations of the cartoon Robotech when I was a kid and always thought the purple-haired character Lancer was the coolest person.
Tess is truly great. She’s a genuine, kind-hearted person. She has no drama of her own, and those that bring drama into her life are quickly excised. I respect this strong, beautiful, hard-working mom who also continues to be a gorgeous model immensely, and I’m pleased to report she recently got engaged to a great guy, the kind of guy she truly deserves.
