PEARL BODICE
I’ve had the honor of collaborating with Erna O’Hara several times on both coasts of the United States. This series was taken the third time we worked together, this time in Los Angeles at one of her many places she was staying during quarantine.
As usual, it was great to talk and hang out with this fascinating, talented beauty, but she was a little sad, having learned a recent photographer friend of hers had passed away. In honor of him, she pulled out this pearl-decorated bodice she’d never worn and always wanted to shoot in, holding flowers, which was one of her friend’s signature props in his shoots.
This was the last set-up we shot that day, and though simply shot with natural light, it felt the most meaningful of that day.
